There's something pretty screwy about this current chart.
Anyone else find it peculiar that "Holiday" has suddenly lost its bullet while all a sudden Beck, Garbage and Queens of the Stone Age all have picked up net gains this week?
Garbage especially puzzles me here.
I will say however that just because "Holiday" has a net loss of spins for the week currently that it is not yet over for this single officially. I believe "Holiday" will get a net gain again right where it's at.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

At first I was surprised (delightedly) that Garbage's song had a sudden gain in spins, but I think it makes sense...the album is about to come out, so why wouldn't stations play it more?

Smell that? That's what a #1 on Alt smells like. This has a +125 bullet @#2... it's gonna get #1!

It is still several weeks from overtaking Audioslave, who will see a bigger bullet right before its release date. And by the time Green Day gets more spins than Audioslave, it has to worry about a big push from Foo Fighters, who will no doubt do huge numbers (not to mention White Stripes and Coldplay).

But it could ALSO mean Audioslave will level off in result of the heavy gains, and thus Green Day will have the opportunity to steal the top spot for a week or two before "Holiday" starts falling off with it. An album's release date is hardly guaranteed airplay for its current single.

This is #1 on Mediabase today. They should be able to hold it until Sunday night, unless Audioslave really rebounds (which is unlinkely, IMO).

Wow, Audioslave lost their bullet before Beck did.

Wow, Audioslave lost their bullet before Beck did. That is interesting! (giggles) I'm surprised myself at Beck's longevity here, considering the relentless number of hot shot debut singles as of late surrounding it. But I knew Green Day would hang in there and go #1, and that's exactly what they're going to do Sunday. Sincerely, Noah Eaton
