Which artist has the most total weeks at #1 on your chart? This may have been asked before, but hey, technically it's a new forum so why not?
From 1997 to 2003, these are my top three acts:
Madonna 31 weeks @ #1 Frozen - 5 Beautiful Stranger - 6 American Pie - 1 Music - 7 Die Another Day - 7 American Life - 2 Hollywood - 3
Matchbox 20 30 weeks @ #1 Smooth - 12 Bent - 9 If You're Gone - 6 Back 2 Good - 1 Unwell - 2
Evanescence 20 weeks @ #1 Bring Me to Life - 8 Going Under - 12

3. Mariah Carey (35 weeks with 10 songs)
Vision Of Love (6 weeks, 7/90) Love Takes Time (5 weeks, 10/90) Someday (2 weeks, 3/91) I Don't Wanna Cry (3 weeks, 5/91) Emotions (3 weeks, 10/91) Can't Let Go (7 weeks, 11/91) Make It Happen (2 weeks, 4/92) I'll Be There (2 weeks, 6/92) Dreamlover (4 weeks, 8/93) Anytime You Need A Friend (1 week, 7/94)
4. Dido (33 weeks with 6 songs)
Here With Me (12 weeks, 7/99) Don't Think Of Me (2 weeks, 4/00) Thank You (2 weeks, 12/00) Christmas Day (4 weeks, 12/00) Hunter (3 weeks, 8/01) White Flag (10 weeks to date, 7/03)
5. Lauren Christy (24 weeks with 3 songs)
You Read Me Wrong (13 weeks, 5/93) Steep (4 weeks, 10/93) The Color Of The Night (7 weeks, 8/94)
6. Sarah McLachlan (23 weeks with 6 songs) 7. Everything But The Girl (21 weeks with 3 songs) 8. Gloria Estefan (18 weeks with 8 songs) 9. Debbie Gibson (17 weeks with 6 songs) Michael W. Smith (17 weeks with 4 songs) Vanessa Williams (17 weeks with 3 songs) 10. Tori Amos (16 weeks with 7 songs) Lara Fabian (16 weeks with 1 song)
Next in line are Coldplay and Dana Glover, both currently with 13 weeks at #1. Celine is so far ahead that is seems very unlikely that someone will overtake her. Madonna had several #1 hits for me prior to my chart's official start date, so she is closer to Celine than it appears. Notice that Mariah started out wonderfully but hasn't reached #1 since 1994! Dido is currently building up her total as "White Flag" is now in a 10th week at #1, and somewhat surprisingly, Lauren Christy ranks 5th all time. She is now part of the ubiquitous producing team "The Matrix," however her solo work was terrific and quite varied. Sarah McLachlan can tie or pass Lauren if her current #2 song "Fallen" returns to #1, which could very well happen! Also note that Lara Fabian spent all of her 16 weeks on top with one song, "I Will Love Again," which is the all time record on my personal chart!
