When we were making the transition from the R&R boards to this one back in September, I allowed people to email their charts to me if they wanted it counted for the Pulse 100. In addition, I counted chart pages from people that had joined the Pulse board, but hadn't posted it in one of the personal charts threads (these chart sites include some that are linked to on the Pulse 100's Links page). But now that everyone is pretty much settled now, I'm wondering whether I should go back to the policy of counting only charts that are posted here.
A 'pro' of counting chart sites from Pulse members that they don't post on here is that it increases the number of charts counted into the totals and therefore makes it slightly more accurate. A 'con', of course, is that if I allow that, it might decrease the number of people contributing to the weekly threads because all they would need to do is update their chart page and it would be automatically counted.
So what do you think? Vote in the poll above and discuss below. :)

I think it is a good idea not to count those who do not post there chart. It's not very hard to post so I wouldn't see any inconvience

Even though I enjoy posting and reading other personal charts, I don't have the time to post my chart on a regular basis. I try to provide something of interest each week and I appreciate anyone who visits my site. I also feel that my chart does little to change the outcome of the main chart as I seldom lead or co-lead on any song.
I do not think Matt should include charts that are not posted on the boards including mine. It is unfair to ask him to track down all the other sources. Besides that, I think everyone wants to see all the contributing charts in one thread.
I vote "no".

It seems pretty clear from the poll results above that most of you don't want me to count charts that aren't posted here. I'll abide by that, effective the 11/25/03 chart, which should be posted tomorrow.

To me, there are both sides to this.
I say no, count only charts posted in full on the boards because those people are saying they want their charts to be counted and then it makes it easier for you.
But then I say yes, because it makes it easier for us (well, me, LOL, since I usually don't get around to doing it... ) and my main reason, I think, is because it'll discourage people from visiting my website... although probably not by much if any.
So I'd say, for the purpose of the pulse chart, count only charts posted on this forum.

I voted no, but I don't see why people can't just put a link to their personal chart and then make a post in the thread saying that it was updated and a link to where EXACTLY we can find the personal chart. Would that be OK? Maybe this is a compromise to this problem... just a suggestion!!!

Beyond Radio already collects chart data in whatever way, so it would be a duplication of effort.

I never post my chart here because I post it once on my site and I don't feel like doing it again.
