This is the latest MT40 that I made dated for last week. It's the chart I make based on songs from CDs that I own. The reason for old songs by artists like Bush and Martin Page and Eminem and everyone else is because I just recently got their CDs so I treat them as new releases and stuff for this chart only.

Avril Lavigne continues to have a busy time on the chart as she pulls an Usher and is dominating the chart. Again this week, she has two of the greatest gaining songs and is nearing #1. 'My Happy Ending' officially impacts this week but it already closed out the chart so it didn't make the most added list.

Sondre Lerche makes it five weeks at #1 with 'Two Way Monologue', making it the longest running #1 so far in 2004. The year has had a ton of #1s so far. 10, I think, which is more than any other year from January to June. I think the most number of #1s any year had in MT40 history was 15 or something. Of those #1s, Martina Sorbara had three, two of which still remain on the chart.

Chantal Kreviazuk's sixth charting hit from her third CD makes the Top 40 this week and is already in the Top 5 greatest gainer list.

Some Summer hits already sizzling or just heating up come from Jewel, Michelle Branch and David Usher, all of which are currently on the rise.

Sondre Lerche's 'Modern Nature' finally drops off the chart afer 37 weeks on. It's the only song on the chart up to June that was also on 2003's yearend chart. Now the oldest charting song is 'Surfacing' by David Usher at 25 weeks with 'Casanova' by Martina and 'Curbside Prophet' by Jason Mraz in a close second with 24 weeks.
