For #24, is the "U" in the title or the band's name?

The "U" is in the title of the song.
And remember - the band had two number one songs on the AC chart in the mid-90s. Both of them did very well on the CHR/Pop chart, too. I heard somewhere that the song in question has become a rather popular wedding song (as well as the other two songs).

Is it "Luv N U" by Boyz II Men? (Never heard of it, but I cheated by looking at amazon.com...)

No, that's not it.
The name of the group sounds a lot like the title of a number one song in early 1994 by three superstars.

Then it's All-4-One with either "Beautiful As U" or "Before U, Without U, After U" (more likely the first one).

It is indeed "Beautiful As U"(since my original clue points directly to that one).
Now, at last, we can kick off the Top 20.
20) Many people found this very successful CHR/Pop song very annoying due to a chant (sort of) that lasted throughout the entire song instead of just the choruses, where it would sound more appropriate.
19) This song's success on the Hot AC chart as well induced mainstream AC stations to play it. On the latter chart, it climbed very slowly and hit the Top 20 just a few weeks before it went recurrent.
18) CS: A boy band sings about the longest measure of time there is.
17) CS: Think of the Grateful Dead's biggest hit and change the last word to a word used in titles of many Christian songs and you got this song, by this young female Christian singer.
16) This song was already guessed earlier in the game. Think of what Foreigner was doing at #2 (on Billboard) in late 1981 with their song "Waiting For A Girl Like You" (and I'll tell you right now that no song called "Waiting" hit my chart in 2002)
GOOD LUCK!!

19. Could this song by chance be "Wherever You Will Go" by The Calling?
I know that song was huge on Hot AC (#1 of 2002) and managed to get a few weeks in the AC Top 20.

Question on #24 - why are they turning into Prince?Β I would think it would be turning into Usher who was out of control with the "U" in the titles...
Anyways...
20) No Doubt - Hey Baby 18) Plus One - Forever 16) Jewel - Standing Still

I didn't say they were turning into Prince - just imitating him (and remember - he started using "U" in place of "you" way before Usher did)
topay was right about #19 and JCMF3, you got 18 and 16 right. #20 was not "Hey Baby" by No Doubt - I hated that song, so it never even made the weekly charts. Actually, the part of the song that people found annoying wasn't really a chant. Let me put it this way. On the old R&R boards, someone compared it to that girl who kept singing, "Boy" over and over again in Cam'ron's "Oh Boy".

20) Blu Cantrell - Hit 'Em Up Style (Oops!) Tweet - Oops! Oh My (please say this is wrong because if this horrific song made your chart...)

You are indeed wrong. That horrific song came so far from making my chart, it didn't even feel the chart's heat. Hell, I liked "Hey Baby" by No Doubt better.
Besides, remember, in my first clue, I said it was a "very successful" CHR/Pop song. "Oops (Oh My)" wasn't very successful, IMO. After all, that song didn't even make the Top Ten.
An additional clue is that the song was #1 on CHR/Pop in 2002.
BTW, #17 still remains to be guessed. And I think I gave some pretty good clues. One more, though; I often get this singer confused with Stacie Orrico and Rachael Lampa.

17) Joy Williams - Touch Of Faith (I don't see how you get her confused with Stacie & Rachael.Β Her voice and style are different.Β If anything, I get Rachael and Stacie confused...)

You're both right.Β I don't know how I get Joy Williams confused, but when I heard her song "Serious", I thought it was Stacie or Rachael.Β
Now, for the next few clues:
15) Based on the title of this song and the singer, many people, including myself, thought this was another 80s remake, which seemed to abound in 2002.Β The singer also sang a song that had the same title as a song by Wayne Fontana & The Mindbenders.
14) Speaking of the 1980s, this song sounded a lot like a song from 1982 from the guitar player of the song mentioned in the last sentence of song #15.Β Other people thought it sounded like "It's Raining ..." Oops, if I gave the full title, it would give the whole thing away.
13) The 80s are a force to be reckoned with in this batch of songs.Β This song, THE hit for the summer of 2002, sounds like something recorded in the 1980s.Β I did a lot of this in the past summer despite how unusually cool a summer it was.
GOOD LUCK!!

Wow, I really gave some hard clues this time, huh?
Well, OK, I'll be a little more merciful and give easier ones:
15) The song that people thought was a remake was originally by a group whose lead singer was the Warrior with her Hands Tied listening to the Beat Of A Heart.Β
14) This song, by a female artist, sounded to me like "Hold On" by Santana while others said they thought it resembled "It's Raining Men" by The Weather Girls.
13) Something people like to do at the beach on a hot summer day.
GOOD LUCK!!

15) Michelle Branch - Goodbye To You 14) Kylie Minogue - Love At First Sight??? 13) Sheryl Crow - Soak Up The Sun (However, I would consider Complicated THE hit of summer 2002... Soak Up The Sun came out in the late winter/early spring)

15 and 13 are right.
I guess I was thinking how "Soak Up The Sun" appeared on the AT20 chart the first week of summer (of course, then it practically lasted into the summer of 2003 as well).
Here's another clue for #14: the singer only goes by her first name (and it's not Madonna).Β

That's right!
12) This is a song by a female singer that was very recently incorrectly guessed.
11) A song that had one of the longest runs in the history of the R&R AC chart.
10) The number one song of the year 2002 on my version of the Pop charts of that year (remember that game on the old R&R boards in early 2003?) It's by a female artist with the first of two songs she has in my Top Ten of 2002. The song went to #1 on the R&R chart in the spring of 2002.

Great, you got them all! We're heading into the home stretch now:
9) CS: We had a lot of trouble guessing this song in last year's game. It's by a group, whose name means "sanctified or consecrated with oil" and the song talks about a promise made if you "drink from this water".
8) The highest ranked song on 2002's chart that did not go to number one. The song, by a spanish singer, made a modest showing on both the Pop and AC chart in the spring of 2002.
7) The top seven songs on my personal chart were all number one singles. This one is by a young singer, who had tons of charted hits in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Many people thought this song was her worst - when I listed my #1 songs of 2002 on the old R&R boards, many people thought I was kidding that this song was #1 on my charts. Even though the subject matter of the song is cheesy, the song itself is very beautiful and it brings tears to my eyes.

You seem to have been forgetting something... Uh, sorry about that. I just updated that list. And your guess of "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman" by Britney Spears was correct. How come it didn't sound right to you?

9) Anointed - You'll Never Thirst 8) I'll guess Underneath Your Clothes by Shakira, but I didn't think that hit the AC chart.

You're right about number nine, but not for number eight. I said it made a modest showing on both charts. Number five (its Pop chart position) is a little more than modest.
And I can't believe that I forgot to include that song on my charts in 2002! That was a really good song. Oh well, such is life.

8) I Need You by Marc Anthony? That song was already on his chart earlier. And I Need You didn't make the pop chart... but... 8) Marc Anthony - I've Got You
