As you all know, for the past month and a half or so, I've been editing my profile to talk about my personal chart year-end number one songs ever since 1974, as sort of a promotion for my year-end chart guessing game and, as promised, it starts on New Year's Day. There is, however, a slightly different game plan.Β A few weeks ago, when I computed up the points of each song (the last two charts of the year were made ahead of time), it turned out that 104 songs had gained 50 points or more.Β I decided, since this was a listing of songs from 2004, to include four extra songs in the guessing game. Well, let's start counting 'em down!
104) CS: This song was a holdover from 2003.Β It hit number ten on my chart in December, but was much, much, much bigger on the Christian chart.Β
103) When this song was a hit the first time around, the videogame system that this band is named after was one of two systems that I owned at the time
102) CS: This song is by a teen Christian singer.Β The title of this song, one of two she has on the list, might describe what many people think of her appearance.
101) This singer had one of the biggest songs of 1995 on many formats, a song from a movie about a divine superhero.Β The singer continues to hit the charts, with songs like this song, which peaked at #21 on my chart this past May.
GOOD LUCK!!
P.S. Here is the full chart, typed out as the songs are guessed:
100) The Space In Between Us/Building 429 99) Voice Of Truth/Casting Crowns 98) White Flag/Dido 97) My Band/D12 f/Eminem 96) With You/Jessica Simpson 95) You Raise Me Up/Selah 94) All I Need/Bethany Dillon 93) Bounce/Sarah Connor 92) Behind Blue Eyes/Limp Bizkit 91) Beautiful Name/ZoeGirl' 90) Leave (Get Out)/Jojo 89) Indescribable/Chris Tomlin 88) Someday/Nickelback 87) The Glory Of Your Name/Watermark 86) All Things New/Steven Curtis Chapman 85) I Don't Wanna Know/Mario f/Enya & P Diddy 84) Bright Lights/Matchbox Twenty 83) She Will Be Loved/Maroon 5 82) Here With Me/MercyMe 81) You Are A Child Of Mine/Mark Schultz 80) Untitled Hymn/Chris Rice 79) In My Daughter's Eyes/Martina McBride 78) Alive In Love/The Swift 77) King/Tree63 76) I Showed Her/O-Town 75) Stacy's Mom/Fountains Of Wayne 74) Give A Little Bit/The Goo Goo Dolls 73) Presence/The Newsboys 72) Sunshine/Lil' Flip f/Lea 71) Shadow/Ashlee Simpson 70) The Reason/Hoobastank 69) Sunrise/Simply Red 68) Yes I Will/Bebo Norman & Joy Williams 67) Don't Let Him Steal Your Heart Away/Phil Collins 66) My Happy Ending/Avril Lavigne 65) He Is Exalted/Shane & Shane 64) Unspoken/Jaci Velasquez 63) Meant To Live/Switchfoot 62) If I Ain't Got You/Alicia Keys 61) Take My Breath Away/Jessica Simpson 60) This One's For The Girls/Martina McBride 59) You Are God Alone/Phillips Craig & Dean 58) Here Without You/3 Doors Down 57) Hold On/Good Charlotte 56) Naughty Girl/Beyonce 55) God Is A DJ/Pink 54) My Place/Nelly f/Jaheim 53) White Houses/Vanessa Carlton 52) Baby I Love U/Jennifer Lopez 51) 100 Years/Five For Fighting 50) Pieces Of Me/Ashlee Simpson 49) Low/Kelly Clarkson 48) Wonderful/Jump5 47) Gravity/Shawn McDonald 46) If We Are The Body/Casting Crowns 45) Who Am I/Casting Crowns 44) Breathe/Michelle Branch 43) It's My Life/No Doubt 42) Through The Wire/Kanye West 41) Glory Defined/Building 429

Those are all correct, except for #104.Β The song in question went to #1 on the 20: Countdown chart, whereas "If We Are The Body" didn't quite make it to the top. The funny thing is, that's OK - since their next two hits DID hit #1.

Well, well, I can't believe it. Someone finally got it. Why, I'm finding myself at a loss for words...
Anyway, let's start the Top 100, which, surprisingly, is only 37 percent Christian songs. I figured it would be about half, like back in 2001 (of course the charts from that year weren't written in "real time", and since the first half of 2001 was one of the best parts of my life, that sort of amplified the performances of certain songs)
Well, enough rambling on here, here are the next five songs:
100) CS: This group debuted in 2004 and their first hit wasted no time at all hitting the top of the chart. However, the follow-up, though it did hit the Top Ten back in the fall, didn't fare quite as well. Possibly sufferering from recurrent-itis from the first song, took a sudden drop (and yes, this was on the primate-compiled "20: The Countdown Magazine" chart)
99) This is another song that had a fast climb to #1 on the 20: Countdown chart. Released in late 2004, the song was this group's third song and their second number one.
98) I sure wish Iraq would wave one of these!
97) This group, headed up by a contoversial rapper, had two charting songs this year. This was the first of them.
96) One of the biggest CHR/Pop songs this year. It's by a woman who has had many hits throughout the past five years, one of them with her husband (although I'm not sure if they're still married. I try to stay away from celebrity gossip - that's why you don't see many posts from me in that type of topic here on the boards)
GOOD LUCK!!

Jessica Simpson - With You

All those songs are correct (the Building 429 song I was looking for, BTW, was "The Space In Between Us")
Now for the next set:
95) CS: Two versions of this song appear on my Top 100 of 2004. Though this was the second one to hit the chart, it was recorded before the first one to chart (they both hit different charts, BTW) and you can tell, since the song ranked at #95 has an extra verse.
94) CS: This pretty young lady has two hits on my year end chart. The title of the song is the same as a twenty-year old song performed by a guy many people know as Frisco.
93) The title of this song - think of a trampoline.
92) A remake of a song by a legendary rock group. It also brought back memories of a popular learning toy made by Texas Instruments.
91) CS: If you listed all Christian artists alphabetically, this group would likely be last. This was their only big Christian AC hit this year that went Top Ten in Spring.
GOOD LUCK!!

Man, I gotta think of harder clues.Β We're already up to song #90.Β 90) The youngest artist to hit #1 since the 1960s (I didn't say what chart, though ) 89) CS: Remember when 20: The Countdown Magazine ran the Top 20 Praise & Worship songs back on Independence Day weekend?Β This singer was the guest host of the show. 88) This group has something in common with Mariah Carey and Glass Tiger. 87) CS: This song debuted on 20: Countdown in the Top Ten, but began sliding soon afterward and it never got back into the Top Ten. 86) CS: The same group who sang #87 had a hit in early 2001 with the same title as this song, by an artist who hit #1 with practically every one of his/her hit singles back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. GOOD LUCK!!

That's because #86 is not "Breathe".
I forgot to indicate that it's a Christian song. I'll go do that now.

88 is indeed "Someday".
Easier clues:
89) The man who sings this song happens to have the same first name as yours truly.
87) The name of this group - hold your income tax check up to the light and you can see this.
86) Remember - the group who sang #87 had a song out in 2001 with the same name as this song.
GOOD LUCK!!

Sorry it took so long to get back to this. I had misplaced the list and finally found it inside a book. Anyway, here are the next five clues:
85) The same title as a song that a Fleetwood Mac band member ended up putting on their Rumors album instead of "Silver Springs" (and the title is mentioned in the lyrics of "Silver Springs")
84) Gremlins are very sensitive to these.
83) This song, from a band who has had three big hits in the past year and a half, reminds me a little of "The Flame" by Cheap Trick
82) CS: This song was a huge hit on the Christian AC charts in 2004 and even did quite well as a crossover track on mainstream AC radio.
81) CS: This song sort of got cheated on the 20: Countdown chart, as it was booted off from well inside the Top Ten back in March. However, he has had many other tracks, including two number ones in the first year of the millennium.
GOOD LUCK!!

I'll guess "She Will Be Loved". (If that was a ridiculously wrong guess, please be aware that I've never heard "The Flame". )

All those are correct, except for the guess for "Dreams" by Diana DeGarmo (I've never even heard that song).
The song in question was one of many collaboration tracks that charted in 2004.

Well, yes it is, but you apparently got the idea, as that is the song in question.
I'll post the next set of clues as soon as I have access to the sheet of paper with my Top 100 songs (as I left it at home)
