They've switched from "Resolve" and are sending this as the third single on January 31st. I think I like "Resolve" better as a song, but this is probably the better choice for radio.

Wow , the album seems so old and it's only now that they're releasing the 3rd single from this double album which contains so many more potential hit singles . I hope this goes top5 on alt.

I hope this is indeed true, since this may be my favorite track off the album. I'm sure this will go Top 5 no doubt if it is released.

I agree "Resolve" is the better song, but "Resolve", despite being a track you can very well relate to, sounds like that kind of track you'd close an album with.
"No Way Back" is more Alternative-friendly with its punkish-leanings, while "Resolve" has some of that mainstream-tendency with the lighter vocals and sound that hearkens more to the hardcore power-chord pop of Gin Blossoms or sorts.
Foo Fighters have rarely scored three memorable singles from a single album, but they, for the first time ever, have scored multiple #1's from this album, and with album sales of "In Your Honor" superior to those of "One By One" and possibly gaining on "There Is Nothing Left To Lose", I think they have a good shot at another Top 5 here. Not sure about #1 though.
What the Foo Fighters should also have been doing is pushing some of the Disc 2 tracks at Hot AC and Triple A. Triple A have given the Foo Fighters moderately generous airplay in the past, with "Everlong" and "Learn To Fly" continuing to be spinned, and "Times Like These" also being treated as a moderate recurrent by a handful of stations.
I've heard the band intends to release "Miracle" seperately as a fourth single, but they should have released "Virginia Moon" or "Cold Day in the Sun" beforehand also.
My Prediction: #4
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Awww, I LOVE 'Resolve'! That's poop! I'll check out 'No Way Back' anyhow.

Wrong decision by the Foo Fighters. I know it's them too, because they've been in the business for 11 years (Grohl longer, obviously).
I would have released a lighter ballad as a third single to follow up an energetic "DOA" and an already hard (yet melancholy) first single. Why couldn't they release this one and wait to release "No Way Back" as the fourth? Apparently Trent Reznor can release ballads and they can skyrocket up the charts but the Foo Fighters simply choose not to do so.
Do they want album success? Try a little variety.
Bad choice.

MTV2 is premiering a bunch of videos next week, including one from the Foo Fighters. I guess its going to be a video for this song. ???

Yeah, I figured this was what they were gonna do. KNDD's already been playing this for a month-and-a-half. I'm starting to get into this too, and I think I like it more than "Resolve." I haven't listened to the album in a while though.

Wait?! Hasn't there already been a video for 'Resolve'? I remember MuchMusic premiering a video for the Foo Fighters a few months back... was that for 'DOA'? I'm positive it was for 'Resolve' and that's why I thought it was already released...

I actually like both of those more than I liked DOA.

WBTZ originally added this as the second single in place of DOA.

If the Foo Fighters only want to go three singles deep, I do suggest they release "Resolve" as originally intended, because it has that "song to close an album" sound.
But the Foo Fighters are a band that is much capable of going four singles deep, and so I believe this would make a better third single and then wrapping the Alternative promotion with "Resolve".
During the "One By One" era, I remember seeing "Low" flop as a third single, but it wasn't an impressive track to begin with and "Have It All" would have made a much better candidate. Plus, though their cover of Prince's "Darlin' Nikki" didn't come from the album, it got released on its own merit following "Low" and ended up having a slow, impressive chart run almost as though it was a fourth single release.
"In Your Honor" is selling better than "One By One" did, which every one of their albums has went platinum. They really are one of the most consistent commerical artists out there. Going 5 for 5 on platinum status is amazing, and truly a record like that tells you you have a solid cult following. So indeed I believe this is a band mos capable of going four singles here.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

I was hoping they would release "Resolve" to show they have a little capability of scoring big with a full-fledged alternative ballad. The only FF ballad to ever hit big was "Walking After You", which I believe peaked around #10 on alt. I wouldn't call "Times Like These", "Big Me", or "My Hero" ballads at all...the only other one I can think of that they released was "Next Year".
They're playing it safe, but I'm predicting this to scrape the top 10.

If that was a power ballad, then so were Everlong, Times Like These, and probably half of their other singles. Personally, I think that's a pretty loose interpretation of the word "ballad".

The video for Resolve debuted just this week on MTV2. I'm surprised that they're not just promoting that at this point. It's also playing on Music Choice.

Wow, are the Foo Fighters really messing their single choice up. "D.O.A." is dropping like a bomb and this was still less than +100 when I checked Mediabase earlier today.
"Resolve" already debuted on TRL? At this point, they'd probably be better off going with 2 singles at once. There is no way this song will dent the top 10, following up an equally hard song and especially with all the buzz surrounding "Resolve" and considering many stations were already starting to play it and call it the third single.
What a bad choice. I was hoping they would finally escape that "2-monster-single" plateau that they seem to never get past.

:o :o 44 21 FOO FIGHTERS No Way Back 783 296 487 5.589 :o :o And look at those audience impressions!!! For being such a new song, that's actually really amazing. I think I'll go ahead and rescind my "barely scraping Top 10" prediction I made a little over a week ago. Unless it hits a big Pearl Jam-sized brick wall, I'd say this is destined for at least Top 5, whether it is the right single choice or not. (Write or right?...Oops )

Heh, I thought this would be another #1 song without a video like NIN but no. The video is now up on Yahoo! Music.

I hope "Resolve" will be next. If they decide to finally release something off the acoustic disc, it should be "Miracle."

I hope "Resolve" will be next. If they decide to finally release something off the acoustic disc, it should be "Miracle." They should have released multiple singles to different formats from the beginning. They should have released "Miracle" as a single for Hot AC and Triple A while they released "DOA" to Alternative and Active Rock, and I'm sure ahd they released "Virginia Moon" to Triple A it would have been a hit there, despite likely not being much elsewhere. Then, assuming "Resolve" is the fourth track to be released from the harder disc, it would be an across-multiple-format release. They could have done joint releases and really expand their audience that way. I thought that was the whole point of the double album to begin with; Grohl wants this to be known as their "definitive album" and stretch their sound. They haven't really lived up to this goal in terms of single releases; they're merely just playing it conservative and satisfying their original base. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

This is one of the best sing;e IMO from this album. As someone mentioned this does have some kind of punkihs sound, however at the same time it's more of a tradional rock n roll sound, that I'm acustomed to.
