This thread is for suggestions for the categories listed below. When suggesting songs and artists, please keep them within the limits of the genre/format and within the time frame of which they were released/peaked on that format. (Songs that peaked from January 1st to October 31st, 2003 and/or songs that were released from November 1st until October 31st, 2003). Also, it would be nice if you put the artist name first and title second and put it in alphabetical order. This would be easier for other people when suggesting songs as well as for me when I organize them. Also, there's no need to suggest a song that has already been suggested.
Here are the categories for this forum:
Male Artist Of The Year -- has to be solo male
Female Artist Of The Year -- has to be solo female
Group Of The Year -- must have two or more members and be an actual group. Collaborations between groups or solo artists don't count.
New Artist Of The Year -- must have released first major single/album that peaked or was released in 2003
Remake Of The Year -- list the original artist of the song too along with the current one, in brackets.
Top Album Track -- only songs from albums released in the time frame (Nov 1/02 - Oct 31/03) are eligable
Underrated/Underperformed Song Of The Year -- This is objective and I may decide not to use this category.
Video Of The Year
Soundtrack Of The Year
Best Original Song From A Soundtrack -- the song had to have appeared on the soundtrack before the artist's CD, if applicable. If the song wasn't released as a single, the soundtrack has to have been released within the timeframe.
Worst Song Of The Year
Best User Song
Best Song Of The Year
Album Of The Year

Unfortunately, Sarah McLachlan doesn't quality for any of the formats unless it is with 'Fallen' or as an artist. Her CD came out after October 31st.
@ Sunny: Re: Tamia - Not for Best Remake. Re: Christina - Unfortunately, I think the video came out before November 1st, 2002 so I don't think it is! (DANG IT!) Re: Erykah - I'm not sure. Depends on when it came out.
LOL! I guess that makes for an easier win for who we want, eh? ;)
DANG IT!
Hmmm, is it fair to conpensate by using collaborations suggested from other categories? I was thinking of doing that for Best Song and Best Artist categories by just combining everyone that was suggested from the other awards of the formats.
Also, I only noticed this morning but thanks to Matt for tacking all of these topics in their respective formats. I'm not sure how long you're planning to keep these on top here but I'm assuming that after a few more days, the majority of the suggestions will be in and then you can untack them. Afterward, I'll still be accepting suggestions and stuff up until they are compiled to determine nominations, sometime in early September, perhaps.

DANG IT!
Hmmm, is it fair to conpensate by using collaborations suggested from other categories? I was thinking of doing that for Best Song and Best Artist categories by just combining everyone that was suggested from the other awards of the formats. Well I personally don't think so because there are songs that I would nominate as best collaboration, but not best song. How about creating a new topic just for that missing category then, so that those who have nominated songs already, can nominate in that category, assuming they wouldn't check this topic again?

Okay, since that category was left out, I'll make my nominations for best collaboration:
Black Eyed Peas f/Justin Timberlake - Where Is The Love? Kid Rock & Sheryl Crow - Picture Beyonce f/Jay-Z - Crazy In Love Santana f/Chad Kroeger or Alex Band - Why Don't You & I (Do both versions count as the same?) Fabolous f/Tamia - Into You

NOTES: Switchfoot and The Ataris are not new, they have previous albums I'm well aware of that. However, remember the original post: New Artist Of The Year -- must have released first major single/album that peaked or was released in 2003 Switchfoot and The Ataris' previous albums were on small or independent labels, so I believe that they can be considered for Best New Artist. (This isn't Evanescence's first album, either -- Origin was released in 2000.)

Oh yeah, what happened to the Remix Of The Year award? There's a "best dance remix" category... nominate for it in the dance forum.

There's a "best dance remix" category... nominate for it in the dance forum. I know that, I was wondering if there's a category for "Best remix" in general since many remixes aren't dance remixes.
