Hey, I think this will be a great way to find some good news songs. What are your favorite album tracks from an album either released within the last 6 months or still on the Billboard 200? One track per album!
Also, describe briefly what the track is like, so people know if it's something that sounds like something they might want to check out.
Here's mine:
Jewel/0304 "2 Find U" - mix of new and old Jewel here... ballad with a a killer hook and meaningful, relatable lyrics
Matchbox 20/More Than You Think... "Downfall" - awesome song... actually reminds me a little of DMB believe it or not... they use a gospel choir in this song
Jack Johnson/On and On "Cookie Jar" - a mellow groove sets the tone for this amazing song about people pointing fingers at one another whenever something bad happens in society... no one wants to take the blame. Very strong lyrics and strong music.
Monica/After The Storm "Ain't Gonna Cry No More" - If you miss the Brandy/Monica sound of the late 90's, this is for you.
Liz Phair/Liz Phair "Red Light Fever" - While every bit as poppy as "Why Can't I?" this ballad is really nice. Very nice chorus... it reminds me of "Sunny Came Home" meets Wilson Phillips' "You're In Love" meets Sheryl Crow
Dave Matthews/Some Devil "Up and Away" - reggae influenced collaboration with Trey from Phish. It jams.
Third Eye Blind/Out of Vein "Can't Get Away From Here" - This is a fun pop/rock song that radio would have loved 5 years ago.
Live/Bird of Prey "Lighthouse" - Classic Live here.... this is a Rock song with a good chorus, great chords, and samples of their signature sound.

Hilary Duff, "Metamorphosis" "Where Did I Go Right?" - A strong ballad with a great lyrics. It also has a really sweet story.
PLAY, "Replay" "What Is Love?" - Pop at its best. Many people argue why teen artists are singing about love when they probably haven't experience it. PLAY acts their age and questions... what really is love?
Lucy Woodward, "While You Can" "Standing" - It's about "the worst break-up" Lucy went through. "How come the things that I can't touch, are the things that hurt so much... well I never know." She said her label loves this, so why not make it a single?
Amy Studt, "False Smiles" "Ladder In My Tights" - Geoguy sent me this track when I was on a Studt celibracy. My perception on Studt did a 180. Although her album has many snoozers, this one is fun and rocking. Dedicate this track to the one you want to say F.U. to. "Who gives a f*** if whoops you ain't shiny and perfect?"
Delta Goodrem, "Innocent Eyes" "Longer" - Brings a smile to my face everytime. Lovely lyrics. Hasn't everyone felt 'Maybe if I just had a minute longer to know you...'?

Come on people. Share your album tracks!! i want to discover new songs lol.
Anyway, I'll add a few more I left out before:
Madonna/American Life "Nothing Fails" - funny that such a disasterous as this album was, it includes one of my favorite Madonna album tracks ever. "NF" is flawless... it's like a mellowed down, 2003 update of "Like A Prayer." I love the gospel choir.
Coldplay/A Rush of Blood To the Head "Warning Sign" - another beautiful Coldplay ballad. DL this if you liked "The Scientist"
John Mayer/Heavier Things "Split Screen Sadness" - it's a ballad... it's good

The White Stripes/Elephant:
"Ball and Biscuit" - Excellent guitar work on this track, throughout it's seven minute time frame; very blusesy. If you're into more classic rock, this is for you.
That's all i have for the time being..will try to check some more out..

Lisa Marie Presley "To Whom It May Concern" "S.O.B." LMP can rock with the best of them. This track is reminiscent of Stevie Nicks' "Stop Dragging My Heart Around"
Vertical Horizon "Go" "Inside" This track was previewed on their site last January. Not as radio friendly, but more for die hard fans.
Sara Evans "Restless" "Niagra" country/AC power ballad at it's best!

Hilary Duff - Metamorphosis "Party Up" An upbeat poppy song with a great beat. It's fun to sing along with too :)
Kelly Clarkson - Thankful "Just Missed the Train" Sounds a little bit like Low, except a few thousand times better. The end of verses that come before the 1st & 2nd choruses are great, as well as the chorus itself (and the verses ain't bad either).
Michelle Branch - Hotel Paper "Love Me Like That" (featuring Sheryl Crow) Much better than that awful dreck Picture Sheryl Crow did with Kid Rock. Incredibly catchy, and still folksy.
Jewel - 0304 "U & Me = Love" An awesome pop song. Easily the catchiest song on the album.
Play - Replay "Just a Little" This Liberty X cover is by far superior to the original. Great vocals, and a smoother song overall.

Jewel - 0304"U & Me = Love"An awesome pop song. Easily the catchiest song on the album. LOL. That's the ONLY track on the album that I skip. I did take your recommedation of the Michelle/Sheryl collabo and I liked that one, so thanks. Heres two more: Mya/Moodring"You" - this would sound kind of funny on radio now, but had this been released 5 years ago it would have been a bonafide Urban hit. I never heard Mya sounding so... R&B before. This sounds like the female equivalent of K-ci & JoJo's "All My Life," but less Poppy (and it's funny saying that considering it's Mya) John Mayer/Heavier Things"Only Heart" - Since I posted "Split Screen Sadness" above, I decided this is my favorite song on his new album. Kind of upbeat for a John Mayer song... it's really catchy.

Sting/Sacred Love Whenever I Say Your Name with Mary J. Blige is such a great song. I doubt we'll see this released because Mary has her own album out right now but hearing such different artists on one track, and the transition from pop to R&B to blues throughout the song is really amazing. This is a really great song.

I may be in the minority since I heard fans are crazy about it. It's just too upbeat and it sounds too similar to Vitamin C's "Me, Myself, & I" (anyone remember that?). "Just Missed The Train" is a good song. Check out versions by Carly Hennessy and Danielle Brisebois (the original person who sung, recorded, and wrote it!).

I actually started an album track chart at the beginning of this year, but discontinued it after a few weeks due to lack of interest. I might try to make an updated list sometime this week.

MB20's 'All I Need' really has a Roy Orbison feel to it. I think it's a great track!

JOHN MAYER - HEAVIER THINGS: All besides Daughter are good, but my favorites are Clarity, Split Screen Sadness, Home Life, Wheel and Something's Missing. I listened to this album twice today on the ride back to school. Now I can say my 4 favorites are "Clarity," "Something's Missing," "Split Screen Sadness," and "Only Heart." I HATE "Daughters"... I can't even get through the song without skipping. Other than that one song, every song is really good. Dido/Life For Rent"Sand In My Shoes," "Who Makes You Feel," "Life For Rent" And I can't emphasize enough how good the Sting/Mary J duet is off of Sacred Love

"Be not Nobody" ~ Vanessa Calrton "Unsung," I still think she should have released this a fourth single. People just wouldn't be prepared for it, but they'd really like it I bet.
"Let Go" ~ Avril Lavigne "Too Much to Ask," I think one of her most overlooked album tracks, but the lyrics are so blunt, but hidden. Like, you you hear what you are hearing, but you don't know what you're hearing until you read the lyrics.
"Jagged Little Pill" ~ Alanis Morissette "Not the Doctor," I don't know, I just always liked it.
"Stripped" ~ Christina Aguilera "Cruz," why ever is she releasing TVW if there is this song? This song is brilliant, her vocals, the melody, everything!
"Missunadaztood" ~ P!nk "Numb," again, I just like it.
"Hotel Paper" ~ Michelle Branch "Tuesday Morning," this better be her third single! Perfect for winter!
"The Spirit Room" ~ Michelle Branch "If only She Knew," it's a good catchy song!
