I have absolutely no life >:( . So I thought I would go back to some of my older cd's to re-review them. I am calling it the Gold Series clever ah. Anyways I chose Mariah Carey's "Butterfly" cd to be my first. :) 1: "Honey" A- (94) One of the best videos in the whole Mariah era :) 2: "Butterfly" A+ (100) Prefection 3: "My All" A+ (100) See above quote Mariah's best ballad 4: "The Roof" B+ (92) 5: "Fourth Of July" B (89) 6: "Breakdown" A+ (100) Gotta love the collab with Bone Thugs and the video was quite hot as well. 7: "Babydoll" C (81) I don't like this song that much. My least favorite on the whole disc. 8: "Close My Eyes" A+ (100) These words mean so much to me :'( 9: "Whenever You Call" A- (94) 10: "Fly Away (Butterfly Reprise)" N/A 11: "The Beautiful Ones" A+ (100) Mariah at her Urban best. 12: "Outside" B (89) Overall Grade: A- (94.45) I think this is the best grade I gave to a Mariah cd. Although "Glitter" might've actually got a tenth or two higher I don't remember

If the album is so great then why didn't it go 10X Platinum like "Mariah Carey", "Music Box" and "Daydream" did/

And there was no "Hero" or "One Sweet Day". But it is her best to date no doubt. Plus it has atleast moved 5 million if not 6 by now. That is pretty damn good. Especially compared to "Rainbow" which only moved about 3 million

"Rainbow" only went 3X Platinum because it was terrible compared to her earlier albums.
Just looking at the front cover of the album would scare off potential buyers.

Anyway, this is her best album for me too, though it's close between this and her debut. 1. Honey: B+ (88) 2. Butterfly: B (85) 3. My All: A- (92) 4. The Roof: A+ (100) 5. Fourth Of July: B (85) 6. Breakdown: A (95) 7. Babydoll: B (85) 8. Close My Eyes: A (95) 9. Whenever You Call: A- (92) 10. Fly Away (Butterfly Reprise): B+ (88) 11. The Beautiful Ones: A- (92) 12. Outside: B (85) Total: 90.2 A-

Are you for real? You really equate greatness with sales? Major agreement here. Sales do not equal greatness in any way. Sales are a result of exposure and being at least decent. Nothing more, nothing less.

This is the only Mariah CD (besides #1s) that I can listen to all the way thru... well, for the most part. I'd probably rate the album a C+ or B-.

It's my second favorite album of her's behind "Mariah Carey". She did a lot of great slick R&B ("Honey," "The Roof," "Breakdown," "Babydoll") on this one. Unfortunately, come "Rainbow" she went totally crap hip hop. Mariah's rendition of "The Beautiful Ones" has a beautiful arrangement. I'm not crazy about the ballads. They're incredibly bland. "My All" is good though.
The biggest problem here was a lot of it was retread for Mariah, especially "Fourth of July" which sounds nearly identical to "Underneath The Stars".

Was "Forever" released as a fourth single from "Daydream"?
If so is there a music video for it and how well did it do on Billboard?
I really like the 50's vibe it has.

Yup "Forever" was the 4th single from 'Daydream'. I don't remember exactly how well it did. But i do believe it went top ten. The video was shot live in Tokoyo if I am not mistaken
