anyone want to make any last-minute predictions on anything...
I think Monica and Christina A. (maybe not a surprise) will surprise with at least three nods each. I think the Grammy committe will love "So Gone."

Jason Mraz will hit big. Coldplay will have a nod or two. Evanescence'll be nominated for 3 awards, but the most nods will probably go to Annie Lennox. Or it could be like last year where everybody "shares" the wealth. I hate when that happens :(

Coldplay will be this year's U2. I expect maybe 5 or 6 nominations from them. Is their CD eligable?
I hope Chantal gets a nomination! LOL!
I expect maybe 1 or 2 from Jason Mraz. Probably Best New Artist and Male Pop Vocal is a slight possibility but that'll be it.
Evanescence might get a few.
I can't see 50 Cent getting a lot.
Monica could get a few.
Kelly Clarkson will probably get a ton.

I think the CD is eligible this year. In My Place was Grammy eligible last year because it was released before the cutoff.

I really hope Christina gets her recognition. All year long she has been overshadowed by the people who were less talented than her, Beyonce and Justin. I truly hope that the Grammy's focuses on talent and music direction more than they do hype and give Christina the recognition she deserves. It will really be great for Christina to end her "Stripped" era with a bang and it would really be great to see the album reach 4 million copies here in the US and cross the 10 million mark worldwide. Hopefully the Grammy's will let that happen.

Thanks for reminding me, I had no idea the nods were out tomorrow.
Coldplay's "A Rush... " won last year for Best Rock Vocal Album, so no their not eligible this year for an album nod.
I hope Dido bring a lot of nods too, along with Shania and Jason Mraz and No Doubt. I hope Kylie gets a dance nod, that ain't happening though.

Also a longshot Song of the Year, I think could be BEP's "Where is the Love," - Grammys love a commercially popular song with a good message. For that reason, "Beautiful" should do well, too.

Even though Beyonce leads for the most nomination, i am betting she will only go home with 1 or 2. Justin probably won't win anything, even though he is nominated for 5. I am glad Christina is nominated for 3 (and plus 2 others for Linda w/ "Beautiful") i think Christina has the best shot at winning "Best Pop Vocal Performance" and also a good shot at winning "Best Pop Vocal Album". I was surprised that CHUD got nominated, it probably won't win though. I predict Christina will win at least 1 grammy!

I know!! I was stunned to find out!! :) Christina's best shot is Best Pop Female Vocal Performance. With Justin's Album of the Year nomination, he has a better chance at winning Best Pop Album than Christina.

I wouldn't necessarily say that about Justin's chances for Best Pop Album. They're two different categories judged using different criteria. Some may consider Justified a better album overall, but may think Stripped is better as a Pop album.
Someone on another message board pointed out past cases of artists being up for Album of the Year as well as a genre specific album category, and they lost out to an artist not up for Album of the Year. So you can't really go by that.
Actually, when Christina won Best Female Pop Vocal Album for 'Mi Reflejo' at the Latin Grammys, she was up against Paulina Rubio, who was also up for Album of the Year.

My question is does anyone know how many times an album has won BOTH Pop Album and Album of the Year awards?
I know Norah Jones did it last year & Celine did it in 1997. Any other times?
