If you really think about it, there were definitely songs that were released, but shouldn't have been.
Off the top of my head: Celine Dion - I Drove All Night Madonna - American Life Christina Aguilera f/Lil' Kim - Can't Hold Us Down Pink - Family Portrait Jennifer Lopez - I'm Glad Janet Jackson - Son Of A Gun (Remix) Britney Spears - Lucky Britney Spears - Don't Let Me Be The Last To Know Mariah Carey - Boy (I Need You) Shania Twain - Up! Faith Hill - One Whitney Houston - Whatchaulookinat Enrique Iglesias - Don't Turn Off The Lights

My main choice for this year has to go to 'Julia' by Chantal Kreviazuk.

Christina Aguilera f/Lil' Kim - Can't Hold Us Down Pink - Family Portrait Britney Spears - Lucky Those songs did very well on the charts. I don't know what you would have replaced them with. Even though its still early, I wanna add Michelle Branch's "Breathe" to that list. I always though that Maverick made a horrible choice picking that song instead of "Find Your Way Back" or "Tuesday Morning". It's struggling already and the album is out of the Top 100 after only 15 weeks. Hopefully she can make up for this.

CHUD is one of Christina's top 5 biggest hits, there was no reason for this song to NOT be released.

Well, maybe "Amrican life" shouldn't have been realesed in th States, but it's a great single for the rest of the world...
Other singles that shoudn't have been released:
Good friend - Nine days (any single off their first album would be a better choice) The road I'm on - 3 doors down Big yellow taxi - Counting crows Nothing at all - Santana ft. Music Are you in - Incubus

Mariah Carey- Can't Take That Away Mariah Carey- Crybaby Mariah Carey- Loverboy Mariah Carey- Never Too Far Mariah Carey- Don't Stop (Funkin' 4 Jamaica) Mariah Carey- Boy (I Need You) Jennifer Lopez- I'm Glad Jennifer Lopez- Baby I Love U
Those are the ones that really annoy me that they were released when there were much better songs that could have been released.

No! I love that song! OK here goes my list. LOL! ;) Christina Aguilera - Dirrty Christina Aguilera - Beautiful Christina Aguilera - Fighter Christina Aguilera - Can't Hold Us Down Christina Aguilera - The Voice Within I agree with the people who mentioned I Drove All Night (this should have been titled I Dug A Grave And Buried My Career All Night). Also the J. Lo singles mentioned, and the last 2 Madonna singles (Hollywood wasn't bad, but it's just bad timing. It couldn't survive a flop.) There should be some kind of law against Samantha Mumba releasing singles. And the penalty should be life imprisonment.

Smashmouth- You Are My Number One
I know I'm on a soapbox here, but had they released nearly ANYTHING else from that album people would be talking about their big comeback right now instead of laughing at them.
Def Leppard- Goodbye
Similar scenario. Def Leppard had just got some fans back in 1999 with the single Promises, and they turned around and released a ballad in an age where rock ballads were never going to get anywhere. Really bad move.
Nick Lachey- This I Swear
Maybe Shut Up will still come out, but the record label wasn't thinking when they had this song released. The boy band sound isn't making it right now.
Fuel- Falls On Me
There are just better songs on the album. I know Falls On Me sounds like a hit, so I can't really fault their logic and only hindsight makes this revelation, but still....

But "Shut Up" was already released and it flopped.
By the way, is that really the name of the Samantha Mumba song?

I'd have to say Jennifer Lopez with "Baby I Love U", instead she should have released "Still".
OK here goes my list. LOL! ;) Christina Aguilera - Dirrty Christina Aguilera - Beautiful Christina Aguilera - Fighter Christina Aguilera - Can't Hold Us Down Christina Aguilera - The Voice Within
You say you're sick of the Christina Aguilera fights, and that you don't start them, yet this is a blatant attempt to get a rise out of certain posters. You tried to cover it up by doing it in a "jokey" manner. But whatever.

Here is my list:
The Ataris: Boys Of Summer: What's funny is the fact the band never wanted to release this as a single anyway. Nevertheless, they didn't dare radio to stop it. Thank God Don Henley's original is secure.
Sugar Ray: Mr. Bartender (It's So Easy): Probably the single that has destroyed Sugar Ray's career. Had "Chasin' You Around" been released first from "In The Pursuit of Leisure", there wouldn't be as much bad blood aimed at this band.
Sugar Ray: Answer The Phone: Another awful single from Sugar Ray with a disgustingly hormonic chorus.
Dave Matthews Band: I Did It: The opening riff is the only thing good about this song. Otherwise, it's a piece of forgetful garbage most DMB fans despise and isn't even Dave Matthews Band, just Dave Matthews.
Jennifer Lopez: I'm Glad: This would officially be the single that reveals J Lo's great vulnerable weakness in her career. Having a streak of Top-Ten hits going, this broke it all up, now her musical career is at the ropes.
matchbox twenty: Disease: I'm a huge matchbox twenty fan, and this is the only single they've released that I didn't like. This single came close to cursing matchbox twenty with the inability to impact CHR/Pop radio ever again, with "Unwell" coming to the rescue.
Christina Aguilera: Dirrty: I tolerate her other material from "Stripped", but it makes total sense why this shouldn't have been released. The music video was despised all across the board, and thanks to "Beautiful" she was rescued.
Santana: Nothing At All: A mega-flop that couldn't even chart ANY format, which was officially the second single.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton
