I'll still count it as the third annual awards as it continues from R&R but it only changes its name.
This year, I'm going to go at it from a slightly different angle. I'll make respective topics in each of the format forums to ask for suggestions based on the *experts* that regulate those forums. Hopefully, that way, each category won't consist of only pop hits that were crossovers.
Also this year, I'm going to take a more active roll in removing songs that don't belong as last year, people picked non-rap songs for rap categories among others. I won't pick songs out that don't belong due to format, only songs that don't belong due to whether they fit the time period or not.
Speaking of which, the time period for this year will be as follows: Songs that peaked from January 1st to October 31st, 2003 and/or songs that were released from November 1st until October 31st, 2003. The reason why I have this criteria is so that songs that were released last Summer that didn't peak until January can still count but at the same time, a song that peaked in November would be deemed too old to count. I won't be looking up the peaks of each song suggested, however, only generalization or whatever. Same with when it was released. Just keep in mind when you suggest songs not to go too far back.
Now, as for criteria for released songs and whereabouts and such. I think the general restriction will be based on North American charts. There is a category for non-North American songs. (LOL! at that!). So basically, songs that were released and peaked in the general time frame in North America, whether Canada or the US. The categories WON'T be restricted to released to radio singles however. I don't think the Grammy's are. In that case, it will be based on when the album was released. So if a CD came out before November of last year, songs from it aren't qualified unless they were released to radio.
Anyways, the deadline is still a few days away but this is basically just a heads up. In a few days, I'll start categories in each of the forums. Here's how it will work:

I decided to ellimate the Artist of the Year category since chances are, whoever wins that will win one of the other artist of the years.
I might combine the Hot AC awards with the Triple A awards like was done last year depending on how they work. The big hits on both formats were different songs for the year so that's why I separated them.
There are a lot of new categories this year also for some of the lesser posted in format forums. Depending on # of suggestions, they may be removed however.
Please don't put suggestions in here. This is just a heads up. I'll make the topics in the forums selected above and it'll be your job to suggest songs for possible nomination in each one. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE only suggest songs in formats that you are familiar with and that you also like. If you hate rap music, DON'T suggest rap songs in the Rap/Hip-Hop topic. If you are only familiar with the Dixie Chicks and Shania Twain, DON'T suggest songs and artists in the Country categories.
Any ideas or suggestions or anything can be posted here though.
