Do u ever wonder what if one of your favorite songs was sung by some1 else?
For ex.
"...baby one more time" was made famous by Britney Spears, but what if TLC did it instead? It was rumored that the song was offered to them 1st. I can see T-boz on that "oh baby, baby" parts and chilli on the "i must confess..." part. i think it would have still been a huge hit!
or
"slave 4 u" this hot Club Jam was also made famous by Brintey Spears but I was also rumored that this track wa soriginally nitended for Janet b4 the "All For You" era. janet would have took it str8 to #1.
or "its like that" this song is Mariah new comeback single but what if it was WHitneys!
Discuss!

Kelis - "Milkshake"- I read somewhere that Pharell wanted to give Britney this song for "In the Zone." I guess since Britney brushed the Neptunes off, he found someone else to make it a hit. It's just too bad because I could totally imagine her trademark low register (like the "Oh baby baby" in BOMT) on the "La la la la laaa" part.

I be she regrets not doing it now. I hope Brintey works with the Neptunes again on her next album. Her hottest material came from them.

I heard that Rachel Stevens' debut single "Sweet Dreams My L.A. Ex-" was originally sent to Britney, who turned it down. Once again, the low vocals from Britney would've sounded AWESOME on this track, I have to admit.

"Nobody's Supposed To Be Here" by Deborah Cox was orginally meant for Patti LaBelle. I can so hear Patti BLOWING this out o the water, but Deborah has put the stamp on that song forever.

I read somewhere that "Tilt Your Head Back" was meant for Britney instead of Xtina. I can't picture Britney singing that song with Nelly so it's good she didn't...

Yes the song was originally intended for Brtney and I can imagine her doing it well. you dont have to blast all over that song to sing it. I can imagine Britney doing it with more sass and sex apeal than Christina. Janet got offered the song after Britney but for some reason she couldnt do it. I dont think she turned it down because she didnt like it but it probably had more to do with scheduling conflicts and things like that. But Janet could have also added that extra sass and sex appeal. Her vocals just milk all over any track. Christina was 3rd choice.

I heard that Toxic was originally offered to Kylie Minogue. Wonder if she could've taken it to #1...

in fact, i heard that Cathy Dennis wrote it as a response of sorts to "Cry Me A River". I can see where that comes from.
Justin Guarini was originally supposed to release "This Is The Night", but for whatever reason decided not to (he didn't want to sing it/label didn't like it/etc.). Clay Aiken later released it.

Kelly Clarkson - "Breakaway" - Supposedly, Avril recorded a version of this for the Disney soundtrack, but someone wasn't happy with it so they brought Kelly in. I can hear Avril singing this song, but I don't think she could've brought the same emotions to the song that Kelly has.

I think Toni Braxton would have done a great R&B version of "Breathe" by Faith Hill. Seems so odd at first, but just imagine it... it would have worked!

Josh Groban covered Linkin Park's "My December" which I was ready to die. But when I first heard it, not too bad. Interesting subject though..

lol Avril wrote the song [Breakaway]. I think Avril would've done well with it, ya, but I don't think any artist could've made better of it than Kelly did. It was the perfect anthem for her. And to my understanding, it had been recorded for the soundtrack and was supposed to go on it. But then Avril's album came out and Avril's people pulled her version from the soundtrack so that it wouldn't compete with Avril's own single. I'm not sure who offered it to Kelly though, but it was absolutely the right choice.

Britney singing Milkshake would have been so hot. I might have ended up liking the song. I think Janet could have seriously worked Toxic

On the Kelly Clarkson tip, Christina Aguilera had written "Miss Independent" for Stripped, but it didn't make it onto the album. From things she's said, it's possible that she may have wanted to go back to it later on if the producer hadn't given it to Kelly. That would be interesting...I think she would've put more guitars in it, like "Fighter".

From what I had heard, Avril wrote the song while recording her first album (don't know if she recorded it, but obviously it didn't make its way on to the album) and then submitted it to the producers of the Princess Diaries 2 soundtrack when they were looking for songs.

Usher singing ALL of Lovers and Friends. Luda and Lil John ruin that song 4 me.
Beyonce singing JLos "Get Right" It would have been so much better.
Kelly Rowland singing Tamias "Still"- Her smooth voice just fits that song.
Alicia or Bee taking Mysa spot in Lady Marmalade- her voice was just normal. Christina had her strong voice, Lil Kim had her rapping, and Pink had her little rock mix. Mya just sounded so normal in that song and boring.

Mya was flawless in Lady Marmalade. She had a great balance and when they sang it live she definately wasnt intimidated by Chrisitna or Pink.

Beyonce singing JLos "Get Right" It would have been so much better. With Beyoncé oversinging every note like usual? I don't think i'dve liked that at ALL. That song requires some degree of restraint, methinks.

J.Lo did an amazing job with it, i like the way she sounds on it. Beyonce would have just ddded more adlibs and done a little too much at the end as usual but it would have worked either way.

It's sad how many songs become big because of the artist. What if The Beatles sang Nelly Furtado's major flop, "Try"? Do you realize how huge that would be?

I always wanted Toni Braxton to do Aaliyahs "more than a woman." i have always thought it fit her voice perfectly and it was also the title of her last cd.

From things she's said, it's possible that she may have wanted to go back to it later on if the producer hadn't given it to Kelly. That would be interesting...I think she would've put more guitars in it, like "Fighter". There was a big argument at Xtina Live Daily about this but the thread isn't there anymore. Xtina NEVER recorded any demo or partial demo of Miss Independent. Rhett Lawrence wrote the music and Xtina worked on it for while writing the first 2 verses but never put voice to music. Rhett posted at KCE and hinted and all but confirmed this. Xtina finished Stripped without ever doing anymore work on MI. Rhett gave it to Kelly and she and Rhett interpreted it. Kelly wrote the lyrics and she and Rhett wrote the music for the bridge and finished the song. The writing credits go to Rhett, Xtina, and Kelly as the authors. The argument at Live Daily was about the song getting stolen from Xtina. Thats not what happened. If Xtina had ever recorded a demo it would have surfaced a long, long, time ago.

What if Christina had been given Baby One More Time and Britney got Genie In A Bottle. Do you think that would have made a difference in their careers
