If an album is good enough to be a favorite of mine, the artists involved deserve my money.

If an album is good enough to be a favorite of mine, the artists involved deserve my money. Besides, I would feel way too guilty about downloading an album illegally for it to be worth the money I would save. I won't even download leaks unless I'm already sure I'm buying the album.

I downloaded and burnt 'Let Go' and loved it so much, I eventually did buy the actual CD. Same with Sarah Slean's 'Night Bugs'. I did it a few other times as well but for some reason, I don't listen to CDs I burn much so I don't download full albums to CDs anymore. Haven't done it since maybe late 2003.

There's just something about going to the store and having that package in your hands

Tee hee hee. You do realize how dirty that sounds if one somehow fails to notice a couple of words in the middle of that sentence? ;)

At first I noticed it and was gonna change it to "CD package" but then decided to leave it like that and see who would respond. LOL Kiki...I didn't think it would be you

I haven't bought a CD in years. I remember it was fun previewing it at the store. I'm into streaming or radio ripping it now.

lol @ Kiki I don't download albums. But I "listen to" CDs from the library. I haven't been impressed by any of them so much that I wanted to buy them... yet. Viva the library!

The only album I've ever listened to without buying it was "Wonder What's Next" by Chevelle, which I borrowed from a friend. And then I eventually bought it, so that's out.
But I was actually thinking today or yesterday that if someone burned me a copy of "American Idiot" by Green Day and I really, really liked it, would I really want to go out and purchase a second copy when I've got a perfectly good copy right there? Of course, I'd also be getting the album cover, back and booklet, which I absolutely need, but that's basically all I'd be buying for $13.99 or some other obscene price.
So I'm thinking, would it be proper if I just mailed the band a check for $9.99 (which I think is about the adequate price for a CD)? I mean I'd make it out to Billy Joe, Mike and Tre, and maybe attach a note saying "A friend ripped the album for me and it was really good. I didn't want to buy another copy, so here's the money I probably would've paid for it. Thanks for the awesome music!" I mean, that wouldn't be pompous of me, would it? It just seems like the best compromise for a situation like that.

K-Os. Love his current stuff but haven't got around to buying his album Hehe, I could have said that yesterday, but I went out to Best Buy and remedied that situation. It's pretty good... a little weird in spots, but good. I have a whole list of CDs I "should" buy because I like 3 or more songs on them. One definitely stands out though: Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane I've heard this plenty of times via friends and relatives. I really like it, and I don't have any excuse not to get it. I just haven't gotten it yet.

I loved almost every song from their CD, but I just never got around to buying their CD. I don't know why.

I used to buy all the time until I think I'm doing something that took the arist, & the producers, writers, etc a long time to do, so I normally buy CDs unless I only like one sonf of the person.
