"dirrty" was cool but the video was disgusting. She has no ass but tried to show it, and the lesbian action was not called for. It was just a bad video that was only made to raise eye brows and show she wasnt a teen popper anymore and a very desperate attempt at that....Mission accomplished to say the least.

In the end, I think this was her exact intent. I guess if everyone loved the video, there would be nothing to talk about. She sure got the press!

I actaully wish "nobody can hold us down" was the 1st single instead of "dirrty." It could've gone to #1 if it had the 1st single hype behind it.

I love "Dirrty" the song, although I like to pretend the video never existed.
I also really like "What You Waiting For", although I can see how it could piss people off.
I also tend to like the bombastic debut American Idol single ballads ("A Moment Like This", "This Is The Night", "Dreams", etc.) although most people tend to hate them.

I loved "just a little while" it is so fun and popy. It was nothing to take serious, just a fun, sexy, and catchy pop song. Alot of peoepl may not have liked it because it wasnt the normal Janet track. But it was definately a ginuwinely good pop track. And her vocals were really nice.

I don't see why everyone hates "Lean Back" so much. I mean sure, it's not exactly brilliant, but I think it's not bad as far as current rap music goes. In fact I think the chorus is pretty creative.

I don't get the hate behind 'Beautiful Soul'. I can understand if people think it's cheesy and he's cheesy but the song isn't *that* bad. It's certainly not worse than anything Hilary Duff or the Backstreet Boys have ever done.

In cases like these, a lot of the time, the hate can come from a song being overplayed (thus, being retired to overrated-ville). Lean Back was a cool groove to me in the beginning, but once I couldn't escape it, I started to hate it. But now that I haven't heard it in awhile, I think it's OK. :)
