there are some people (perhaps not too many in here) that like a certain artist or group but don't let it be known in fear of being ridiculed or something like that. Are you closet fans of anyone?
i can't say i am... i will gladly and honestly say that i am a Simple Plan fan no matter what anyone says... i like their fun poppy-sotfpunk (it's not entirely punk, nor punk-rock) sounds....
Now, it's your turn, you have an artist or band you like that you'd like to tell everyone? ;)

I have more and more gotten over being a closet fan. I mean, if someone ridicules me, that is their own idiocy coming out, not mine. I like what I like, even if its considered "embarassing"

I think once you hit 20 or so, its no longer about listening to what's cool, but listening to what you like. No matter who it may be.

I don't care if people think the music I listen to sucks... or if it's cool or not. The music I listen to is good for me and is likely to be good for some and bad for others.
Maybe I won't tell everyone I meet that I own Hilary Duff's album but on this board at least I have no problems saying it... and if her name were to ever come up in converstation I'd mention it.
Nothing to be ashamed of, whatever you like. It's personal taste and half the stuff that is deemed 'cool' is crap anyway.

Hilary Duff, for a while. But I haven't listened to her album in while. So no one at the moment!

I am not a closet fan. If people have problems with my musical tastes, that's too bad...

I used to be, but I listen to so many different things now, that I don't mind coming out and saying I liked Debbie Gibson's Out of the Blue record, or whatever it is I like.
When I first started branching out in what I listened to I remember some of my closer friends used to tell me that I liked "gay" music. I like Erasure, and much of that sound. It bothered me a little back then, but it's been years since I've worried about what other people thought of my music tastes.
I caught a lot of flack for bringing in a Hanson CD to work a couple of years ago, but it was the soulful album that Johnny Lang helped them out on, and I told 'em if they couldn't get past the "idea" of it being Hanson it was their loss. I thought that was a great album.
I suppose the one album I've been wanting that I've held off on buying maybe PARTLY to appearances is Clay Aiken. I'd kind of like to hear it, but the desire to hear it hasn't balanced out the teeny bopper image yet, so I guess he probably comes the closest, but if I want to hear it bad I'll still buy it and won't try and hide it or anything.

Does Lucy Woodward count? No, because you had a banner advertising her banner in your EFG siggy some time ago.
