If I post an mp3 of myself singing some, will you all give me critiques and opinions and what not? I only do this b/c I can't afford or spare time for real voice lessons, and getting peoples opinions is the next best thing, especially people that really listen to a lot of music.
So if I post, who will listen?

I know some people who have heard you sing before. I didn't hear good things from them.

Absolutely! I think a good voice is more than show-offs like Christina Aguilera and Celine Dion!

1. You have trouble staying in key. Probably, you are picking songs that are naturally too high for you. You either should choose songs written for a tenor or arange these songs written for a 2nd Soprano, so that they are in an appropriate key.
2. Breating. Inhale through your nose, not your mouth. Your breatihing is really noticable in the first track.
3. Leave the vocal gymnastics for Mariah - you don't have her control, so it sounds like you are one of the "cut" people trying-out for American ideal.
4. Work on your pitch. Practice your scales. Learn how to sing notes, not songs. This is what any intro vocal coach will tell you. People always want to "copy" someone elses vocal performance, but don't want to learn how to sing. So, you should practice singing notes and moving up and down the scale.
Overall, you honestly have a good voice. It just need to sing songs that are appropriate for it and work on technique!

U should start a website and create a following like Jaley or Kloudie. That way, fans can listen to you and u might even get a record deal like Brooke Allison!

I would choose songs by men. If you were being produced in a studio it wouldn't matter so much. I would also stay within my range.

If it's already on CD, all you have to do is download an mp3 encode or ripper or whatever it's called. Go to download.com and look for musicmatch and download it!
I should get some serious advice on my singing too! But people would probably rip it up without offering anything. :(

Alright, here we go:
1. You need to learn breath and vocal control. Nose breathing is best but breathing through your mouth is ok when it isn't noticeable, also if you have good voice control it adds an additional quality to your voice.
2. You are a baritone, not a tenor so sing soemthing a little lower on the scales, or rearrange things in order to fit your voice.
3. Warm-up your voice. Run the scales or vibrate your throat so that it makes your lips vibrate for about 3 minutes, or sing a song that starts off low and finishes high, like some Rachelle Farrell, or simple sing the ABC's.
4. Don't try so hard. Let things flow and not concentrate on nailing notes.
How long have you been singing?
P.S. Join up with some friends on campus or join a choir for some formal training/practice.
