If a Limited Edition version of an album is available in addition to the regular one, would you buy it?

Sure. Usually I will if it's the same price or only a few dollars more. If it's like $20 more with a bonus DVD that I don't care about, then no way.

If it's released on the first day, yes.
If not, I'll stick with the regular versions.

More than likely if it's just like 2 or 3 dollars more. Like I got the special edition U2 CD for $2 more but I didn't get the special edition Gwen CD because it was more than double the price. Also depends on what comes with it. I'm all for bonus CDs!

The Britney Spears My Prerogative: Greatest Hits album was released in regular and limited editions. The limited one contained a bonus CD with some remixes on it. At many of the stores I visited that sell the two versions, the price is the same for both of them.
The one with the bonus mixes is a better deal! Same price, more stuff!

If a special edition comes out at the same time as the regular CD, you better believe I'm getting the special edition.

I hate when artists re-release albums as "limited edition" months after the original came out. Even for an artist that I really like, such as Switchfoot, I refuse to buy a re-packaged album with just 2 or 3 new songs.
However, as many of you said, if it comes out the same time, than I usually go with the limited edition, but only if its in the same price range. Alan Jackson's last greatest hits album gave you a six song bonus CD for free as the limited edition.

It depends. When Linkin Park released Meteora they did this, (the brown version was regular, and the blue was bonus). But I bought the brown one because it was cheap ($9.99 on sale at Best Buy) while the blue was $14.99. I probably should have bought the bonus version though, but I believe I was buying another CD as well, and wanted to come in around $20.
If it's a rerelease, then only if I don't have it already. Because there's no way I'm spending more money on an album I already own just for a few more features.
