Let's do a song-by-song review of Avril's new CD.
Take Me Away - A- I love to listen to this one on high! The chorus is rockin'!!
Together - B The piano of this one reminds me of 'Time'. It's so Chantal. I think of all the songs on the CD, this is probably the most reminiscent of Chantal's singing. It shoulda been a duet. The chorus is Avril though. A bit overdone on "together" but I like the "hands will fall" part.
Don't Tell Me - A+ I have to admit this song didn't impress me all that much at first but now it's awesome! I love it! Her only #1 on my chart so far so that shows something!
He Wasn't - B This song is alright but it's totally out of place on the whole CD. It would fit in well on a movie soundtrack or something for an American Pie-like movie like 'I Don't Give'.
How Does It Feel - B+ I was all over this song at the beginning but now not really so much. It's still great but not REALLY great. I kinda hope this isn't a single.
My Happy Ending - A I like this song when it comes on the radio. It sounds great there even though I'm not 100% supportive of the idea to release it, it's still not a bad song. As a song itself, it's great but for Avril, she has better.
Nobody's Home - A+ AWESOME! This is the best song on the CD. By the time the bridge comes along, I'm totally into it and then the last chorus comes and I'm completely lost in the song! They should have somehow made it more rock sounding! This is a song that could use more guitars and drums!
Forgotton - C+ Prolly my least favourite song on the album. It's alright but not really anything here to grasp onto.
Who Knows - A This song has an awesome chorus! It's so catchy. I can see it being a Canadian-radio-only release like 'Surrendering' was for Alanis. I think it's a great track and a highlight for the second half of the disc.
Fall To Pieces - A+ Here's another great track! It's quickly becoming my favourite on the album after not really feeling it at first.
Freak Out - B- Alright but this song could be tons better. I'll prolly think of this as the 'Nobody's Fool' of this album. The chorus is good but otherwise, there's nothing special here.
Slipped Away - A This song is a nice finisher for the album. I think it's a sweet dedication from Avril and was a nice addition to the CD itself.
As to whether or not the CD is better than 'Let Go', I can't really tell yet as I'm still in the first stage of 'Under My Skin' and listening to it daily but after a few months, I can make a real judgment. I also haven't listened to 'Let Go' since I got this one so I can't compare just yet.
Avril Lavigne - Under My Skin B+

Take Me Away - D Terrible, terrible track. It's Avril's worst song to date.
Together - A I didn't like this song at first, but I love it now, especially the verses and the ending of the song.
Don't Tell Me - A- This song was also a grower, but I turn it up every time it's on the radio now.
He Wasn't - B+ This song is easily one of her catchiest songs to date, it's too SK8er Boi-esqe though.
How Does It Feel - A- This song is INCREDIBLY repetetive, but the song has a great feel to it and one of the best endings to any Avril song I've ever heard.
My Happy Ending - A Great song and perfect for radio, it has the perfect structure for a pop song and the bridge and ending are great.
Nobody's Home - A+ Probably the best song on the album, especially with the lyrics. This is her best written song to date, and it also has lots of raw emotion attached to it.
Forgotton - A+ This is my 2nd favorite on the album. . . I love how it builds from the beginning from her simple "ah's" to a head banging chorus.
Who Knows - B+ This song is so reminscent of Let Go, and it's really catchy (especially during the part where there are those instruments), but it's kind of cliche.
Fall To Pieces - B+ I love the song, but the lyrics aren't very good. . .
Freak Out - A Great song, it has one of the best guitar riffs on the album and the chorus is very catchy.
Slipped Away - A+ This is probably the best ballad Avril has ever put on an album. It's so simple, yet so beautiful.
OVERALL: A-, it would be an A if it weren't for Take Me Away.

The album is really good, apart from 2 songs. Overall it's a B+ (or an A-... can't decide!)
Take Me Away B The vocals kind of annoy me and it sounds a bit like 'look what a rock chick I am'
Together A- Love the intro. The chorus is very catchy.
Don't Tell Me A+ I have loved it from day 1 and continue to, I don't know why people reacted so badly to it, it's awesome
He Wasn't D Garbage. Trying to do another Sk8er Boi. I hate faux-punk Avril.
How Does It Feel A Just a great song, I like it better than I'm With You.
My Happy Ending A+ This song rocks! Very catchy, a good 2nd single.
Nobody's Home B+ Good, but I don't see why everyone is so crazy over it.
Forgotten B- OK, a bit boring.
Who Knows A+ Love this one, one of the top 3 songs for sure. I love the start with the YEAH YEAH's and the rocky music with the catchy melody.
Fall To Pieces A Grows on me the more I listen to it.
Freak Out D Absolute garbage song #2 - see He Wasn't because that description also applies here. There are moments of promise in this song but then it just turns to garbage. She should've given this song to Hilary Duff - at least she would've made it fun and poppy instead of a pathetic punk-pop song.
Slipped Away B- I like the sentiment but the lyrics let it down. Still, not bad.
Overall, really good, with some fantastic songs. The 2 garbage crap songs let it down. Avril is an artist whose music I generally love but I have no interest in her or seeing her sing live... she's the only artist I follow that I could say that about... weird.

Avril Lavinge "Under My Skin" 1: "Take Me Away" Pretty good way to start off the disc if you ask me. Although I do believe the song is too short. Grade: B+ 2: "Together" Definitely not my favorite track but still a solid song. Grade: B- 3: "Don't Tell Me" I like this song alot although I really don't care for the chorus much. Grade: B+ 4: "He Wasn't" This is by far the worst song on the whole cd. I have no idea what her and Chantal were thinking . Grade: C- 5: "How Does It Feel" This is a pretty song but it's not Avril at her best. Grade: B- 6: "My Happy Ending" My absolute favorite track by far. Probably my favorite Avril song of all time!! Grade: A+ 7: "Nobody's Home" Another great song. I hope this is her 3rd single. Grade: A 8: "Forgotten" I love the begining of the song with the paino and her harking in the background. It's too bad she couldn't follow it up with a great song. Grade: C 9: "Who Knows" Great message great song. Grade: A 10: "Fall To Pieces" This is a pretty good song but nothing really stand out at you. Grade: B 11: "Freak Out" I don't see why people are dissing on this song so much. I love it. It is a fun song. Grade: A 12: "Slipped Away" Pretty good slow tempo song to end the whole "Under My Skin" experience. Grade: B+ Overall Grade: B (89.8)

Let's do a song-by-song review of Avril's new CD. Take Me Away- A Like Losing Grip on Let Go, this song gets the album going in full swing. Good vocals and good lyrics..a generally good song. Together-A+ A phenomenal song. My favourite track on the album. The chorus is excellent and the piano piece at the start is excellent. This should be Avril's next release. Dont Tell Me-A+ Avril's first song from Under My Skin. No doubt you've already heard it and it is really, really good. He Wasn't-D An awful song and lets this album down. Its a bit like skater boi...but even worse. Its terrible, with cheesey lyrics and bad vocals..Terrible. :( How Does It Feel-A+ Avril's 3rd release from Under My Skin. How Does It Feel is the only ballad on the album and its beautiful. My Happy Ending-A A good song at first. Its played far too much though and gradually becomes annoying. Nobody's Home-C Boring. Lame chorus. Sounds good at first. but its distinctly average and if it was my album i wouldnt want this track or he wasnt on it. Forgotten-B A nice track. You can detect avril's rock side a lot in this track. Its very good but becomes repetitive. Who Knows-A+ Beautiful song. Excellent lyrics. I absolutely love this song and did so when i first heard it. Its fiiiiiine. Fall To Pieces-A Very well writtern with a good backing tune. I really like this song aswell. Freak Out-A+ My 2nd favourite track on this album. Its not boring, repetitive or annoying and i can relate to this track a lot. Slipped Away-B- Good but slightly boring. Bonus Track for the UK: I always get what i want-A+ Brilliant song and ends the album fantastically. :) Overall I would give Under My Skin an A-its as good as, if not better than Let Go. Pity about He wasn't and nobodys home..they do spoil the album slightly, Highlights on this cd are Freak Out How Does It Feel Together and Who Knows The releases from Under My Skin are going to be Don't tell me My Happy Ending and How Does It Feel

^ Uh, no. The 3rd release is going to be Nobody's Home.
I don't know how you could think Nobody's Home is bad, it's easily one of her best tracks to date and most people would agree.

Haven't listened to it, but love reading all your thoughts on it. I really wish Rolling Stone or Blender would do a more detailed, song by song review of new albums. They grade the album as a whole, but I would love to see a grade per song.
