I want to make a Best Of Alanis CD but I'm unsure as to what to put on it so I decided to ask for the opinion of you guys. What are your favourite Alanis songs, new and old? I'm not looking specifically for singles, hits and releases but all of her stuff. What are your 10 favourites? I'll prolly pick from your guys' votes.

Is this an Alanis Morissette Greatest Hits you want or a The Best of Alanis Morissette?
If it's a Greatest Hits, here's how I'd run it:
I'd make the CD 18 tracks actually.
I'm still working on the order of the tracks (unless she wants a chronological run of her career. But I'd take 16 from her four albums:
*****Jagged Little Pill*****
1: You Oughta Know 2: Ironic 3: Hand In My Pocket 4: You Learn 5: Head Over Feet
(6: Uninvited (From City of Angels Motion Picture Soundtrack)
*****Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie*****
7: Thank U 8: Unsent 9: So Pure
(10: That I Would Be Good (Unplugged Version)
*****Under Rug Swept*****
11: Hands Clean 12: Precious Illusions 13: 21 Things I Want In A Lover
*****So-Called Chaos*****
14: Everything 15: Eight Easy Steps 16: Excuses . . . (and the last two tracks should either be two new recordings, or one new recording and a fan favorite. In other words, have a poll for fans to pick their favorite non-single from Alanis as the bonus track.) . . . If it's a Best Of you want, it's best to follow your heart and go by what YOU think her best is. Chances are most of your favorites of her are, in fact, not singles.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Best of Alanis? I'd only put the Jagged Little Pill singles.

Well, I could go all hits and releases but that would be limiting as half of my Alanis favourites are non-releases but at the same time there are too many for one CD. Here are some of the songs (non-releases) I'm choosing from:
Unforgiven Wake Up Joining You Narcissus Still No Pressure Over Cappaccino Princes Familiar King Of Pain So Called Chaos All Is Through Not All Me Doth I Protest Too Much
As well as some unreleased b-sides like Unawakened Americans Symptoms
Add those to some of her hits You Learn You Oughta Know Uninvited So Pure Thank U Precious Illusions

A non-release I would put on is "Not the Doctor."

A non-release I would put on is "Not the Doctor." "Utopia" is also a good one. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

You Oughta Know Hand In My Pocket Ironic You Learn Head Over Feet Thank You Uninvited Joining You So Pure That I would Be Good (acoustic) Hands Clean Precious Ilusions Everything And maybe something more out of "Jagged Little pill" My only criticism of this arrangement is that "Jagged Little Pill" seems to dominate, with "Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie" squeezing almost the rest of the album. So it feels a bit disproportionate. Even if some singles weren't "hits" from her last two albums, it helps to put variety in a Hits package by more evenly arranging the tracks from the albums. That's why I thought her ideal Hits package should be more tracks so it can work in the even distribution. Indeed all five hits from "Jagged Little Pill" should be there, but leaving only one track from "So-Called Chaos" doesn't quite do the longevity of her career justice, even if its far from par of her debut. By the way, "All I Really Want" was the sixth single from the album and didn't hit like her first five did but still got decent Alternative play. That could work! :) Sincerely, Noah Eaton

That's one way. Definitely! :) Or just make sure there's about the same number of selected tracks off each album. "Jagged Little Pill" should definitely have the advantage, but when an artist wants to make a Hits collection and has four albums, you may go like 4-4-3-3 or 5-3-3-3, something like that. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Her outstanding songs are "You Oughta Know" (what a way to debut! Sure got people's attention!), "Uninvited", and "Joining You" "You Learn" is pretty good, too.
