Not sure, but odds are we've already heard of them...
Last year at this time, Maroon 5 was already on the charts with "Harder to Breathe" but it was completely unforeseen that they'd blow up in the new year and become the first major success story of 2004.
Also, this time last year who would've though Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears would've dominated the Pop charts in early 2004?
My point is some of 2005's biggest acts are already in front of our faces.

Coldplay are already big, but with the new album coming out in 2005 and their stature having rised significantly since the release of their last album... perhaps they'll dominate 2005. They've yet to have a #1 at any format (besides AAA). I think this could be the year to change that in a big way!

Naw, I doubt Coldplay will be as big as their last CD.
It'll prolly we someone we don't really expect. Like Jem or Gavin DeGraw or someone like that.

Why, because some of them are minorities and minorities can't make it big in this industry? Is it because JenRo is a lesbian rapper? Or that Alexandra Bachelier is a fierce chicana diva who won't rest until her calling is heard?

Idlewild - The best of R.E.M., bands like Nirvana, and bands like Coldplay. Hope Of the States - The new "new Radiohead", but better than the others. Metric -Β Comparable to Garbage when they released their self titled disc.Β Pretty Girls Make Graves - Matador seems ready to show the world that it has what it takes to push bands, and Pretty Girls Make Graves are deserving of the masses attention. Death Cab For Cutie/The Postal Service - Ben Gibbard will own music, period. Interpol - Anyone who releases a disc as good as Turn On the Bright Lights deserves to be heard, that and Matador is going to be on radio's ass to play Slow Hands. Something For Kate - Paul Dempsey > Chris Martin Elbow - Guy Garvey > Chris Martin ...Trail Of Dead - "Emo" from Texas will eventually have to be heard, and this is it people.
