I sort of figured it would be next, seeing as it's on the sticker and it's the follow-up to two #1 hits. I don't think this will do as well. It sounds more like your average album cut than single, although the intro reminds me somewhat of the outro of "Closer".

I'm not sure how well this will do. Though I don't remember the whole song perfectly off the top of my head, I'd say it's too slow and doesn't have any really strong hooks. It's probably one of my least favorites on the album.
I'll go home and listen to it again now that I know it's the next single.

I don't know, this album is really strange in that when you listen to it, other than "The Hand That Feeds", it doesn't seem like it has any other strong picks for radio singles. Then they select the singles anyway and they sound just fine. That's exactly what happened with "Only", and it took place again last night when I heard this song. At least that's the way I see it.

This will definitely go Top 5.
I have yet to listen to this album, but the first three singles sound like a basic "summing up" of what his career has been, maybe with a little tighter production and a little more mainstream sound.

Still believing this song will go top 5...but I have to be honest. At this point, this song is almost a chore to sit through. I like the mysteriousness of the verses but the repetition of the title in the chorus (with the third line being a different line) is just not creative and, dare I say it, bland.
This seemed like a safe choice for single #3, and yes it is radio friendly, but it's too "playing it safe" for me to actually place it on my personal chart.

the repetition of the title in the chorus (with the third line being a different line) is just not creative and, dare I say it, bland. But maybe, with a song called "every day is exactly the same", that's merely Reznor's point . I don't think of it as being too "play-it-safe" really, although it's really average for NIN. The only thing that seemed awkward is that while it was on the sticker, I don't believe I ever heard about it being performed on most previous With Teeth shows.

It does sound like Trent is forcing the title of the song into the chorus, but damn, is this song catchy.

I'm glad to see this is finally picking up its pace on the charts and is Alternative's highest gainer at +226 this week.

^ It does, and I equally love it. Now I find it hard to choose whether I prefer "The Hand That Feeds", "Only", or this as my favorite single...

Its pretty easy for me.
1. The Hand That Feeds 2. Everyday Is Exactly The Same
3. Only

For me, it would be the reverse of that list (but without the extra space between "Only" and "EDIETS").

For me EDIETS is by far the best single. I hated "Only" and THTF sounded more like filler to me

I guess I'm not in the same Trent Reznor love boat as most of you guys with this song. It's too contrived (is that the word??). I'm not an elitist by any means, but it seems like on this album he decided the titles of the songs before he actually wrote the lyrics to them.

I'm probably the biggest NIN fan on the boards, but as I said earlier, the new album is just not as good as the other four, which were amazing. This one's "just good". On a list of my favorite albums of the decade I excluded it because I would've only included it due to "name recognition". It just doesn't have the greatest playback value IMO and some lyrics are really silly, and I guess I wouldn't mind if I didn't know it was coming from someone approaching 40.
This song is decent, not quite great but definitely enjoyable. "THTF" is still my favorite single from the album; the bridge really made it for me. However, its video was rather boring IMO.
