The people I know that I'm hearing that from are far more representative of the general population than anyone on here. I was responding to this topic in the vein of the One Hit Wonders being in quotes, as in that's what people think of them whether it's true or not, and I stand by Vanessa Carlton as someone that history will remember as a one hit wonder. The Knack wasn't a one hit wonder either, but history certainly remembers them that way. I could see that happening, maybe. But she is being compared to Avril Lavigne and Michelle Branch as big female singer/songwriters. I just don't see her going down in history as a one-hit wonder.

I wasn't really following that converstation with J, but i know i would rather have 5 top 5's over one #1 and 4 mediocre top ten's (i don't see how top tens could be mediocre anyway). That's fine. It's your opinion. What I stated was also just an opinion. Mediocre Top 10? Try a chart run like 28-19-12-10-13-18-24-30-33-39-46-off (with negligible recurrent spins a month later. Not even 3 months on the chart). Madonna's "Ray of Light" was a mediocre Top 10.

Remember she also appaerewd on the Counting Crow's single "Big Yellow Taxi" and if it was not for her involvement it woudn't have been a hit at all, think about it. BTW she is soooo not a one hit wonder, she had three singles that hit top 40 radio and hitting at least the top 30. I personally like "Pretty Baby", though it could have charted better, and her brand new single has already hit the top 40, I'm talking about "White Houses". Yeah...

Should I add J-Kwon to the list? Really? I certainly hope not! I like his new single "You & Me", it's pretty catchy. Urban and Pop radio are the ones that need to take action as Rhythmic did. Over there it's headed for top ten!

Ah, I could see Kim Locke as a 1 hit wonder. '8th World Wonder' was a minor hit (big at AC) but 'Wrong' flopped and I don't see her ever scoring a major hit again. I wish the opposite were true because I think she has a great voice and loved her two singles.

Ciara's single single opens up at number 74, and it's taking off on all three major formats.
One hit wonder my ass!

Yeah and Dashboard Confessional won't be a one hit wonder because alternative will continue to be on them like republicans on gay marrage for years to come.

In defense of my girls, i'm gonna say that they definitly had no hope after "Move Ya Body" started falling. "Turnin' Me On" had no chance. However, now that they are featured on "Oye Mi Canto", it leaves the chance of a future hit open (hopefully)
BTW what are the stats for "Turnin' Me On" at radio anyways.
