This is easily my least favorite off the new album. My station played this even before they played "The Only Difference...", but then again I guess there was an obvious confusion with what their first single would be. The "teen hearts" reference seems contrived and cheesy, IMO.
I'll believe this when I see the adds date, but this likely won't do nearly as well as their first two, and whatever it is, it shouldn't make an impact until fall at the earliest. It would be foolish for them to push another single now. Their next album will not sell nearly as well (800,000 and counting for this album, I believe.)

This is the single after "But It's Better If You Do" in the UK. The video has been shot but, as of this moment, the single will be released towards the end of July. In the UK, I mean. After enough exposure to this song, I do consider it my favorite or my second favorite (only atfer "Nails For Breakfast, Tacks For Snacks") out of their excellent album. Hope it does well in both countries, but I don't think they've had enough exposure and promotion in the UK to chart in the Top 40 Singles Chart.

I remember liking this more than "But It's Better If You Do", but I haven't listened to either in the past month or two.
So is this the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th single off A Fever You Can't Sweat Out?

According to Wikipedia, "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" was the first single and "The Only Difference" was the second. "But It's Better If You Do" is the third UK single and "Lying" is the third US single. I don't know how much credit anyone wants to give Wikipedia, but maybe it's better to just accept this as the truth and move on.

Anyone can edit Wikipedia's pages. I could go on there and put that "Camisado" was the lead single from the album if I wanted. It's not necessarily an accurate place for info.
Here is how the singles went...
UK: 1. I Write Sins Not Tragedies 2. But It's Better If You Do 3. Lying Is The Most Fun
US: 1. The Only Difference (Alt) / I Write Sins Not Tragedies (Pop) 2. I Write Sins Not Tragedies (Alt) 3. But It's Better If You Do ? 4. Lying Is The Most Fun ?
The only ones I'm not sure of are the US' 3rd and 4th singles. BIBIYD's video is being played on Fuse. I don't know if that's an indication of what radio will do. But IWSNT's video was released months before it went to radio.

Just because they have a video doesn't mean it's a single here or otherwise. And no, Wikipedia is not trustworthy, but it's about as trustworthy as anything else, unless you're getting your information from the band itself. It makes the most sense out of anything.
Let's look at it like this, okay? "But It's Better If You Do" is probably not going for adds here since it's been a UK single since about April, while "Lying" goes for adds in a couple months. Unless they do two singles at the same time, "Lying" is the best bet for the third single here in the US.
Honestly, if we look at it that way then Wikipedia is right. There's no reason to assume that Wikipedia is untrustworthy all the time. Sure, people can make shit up if they want to, but almost all of the data I've found on Wikipedia has been accurate.

Well what you posted from it was wrong lol I'm not saying it's always wrong, just that it's nothing official.
We'll just have to wait for official word on what the next US single is. "I Write Sins" was a single in the UK well before it became a single here, so you can't really use the two markets to see what will be released at a certain time. They're obviously not releasing singles simultaneously.

What I posted was wrong but Wikipedia is not wrong because I misposted what Wikipedia said.
What Wikipedia said is that the singles, in total, go in this order: "I Write Sins", "The Only Difference", "But It's Better", and "Lying". This is correct because.........
1. First "I Write Sins" debuted in the UK, making it the first overall single. 2. Then "The Only Difference" debuted in the US, making it the first US single but the second overall single. 3. Then "I Write Sins" debuted in the US. Second US single. Changes nothing overall. 4. Then "But It's Better" debuted in the UK. Second UK single, third single overall. 5. Finally, we are in the now, with "Lying" going to both UK and US, and it would be the third single in both territories, and the fourth single overall.
I misunderstood Wikipedia because I thought it said "The Only Difference" was also a UK single, which it didn't. And I didn't know "But It's Better" had debuted as early in the UK as it did, and that "Lying" was going for adds in the UK as well soon. But those were the only errors.

Las Vegas band Panic! At the Disco took time out of their headlining U.S. tour to record the video for 'Lying Is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off.'
"It's the first one we've done that doesn't have performance shots in it," guitarist Ryan Ross tells AOL Music.
The band filmed the clip late last month in L.A. with Travis Kopach.
"Basically, we created a strange place where it's surreal. Everyone in the video is wearing fish tanks on their heads," Ross describes. "It's [set] in this little town, and it's meant to feel like Pleasantville."
When people's heads start hitting the ground, cracking the fish tanks, Ross says the band members step in as heroes. "We play paramedics, and we put them in these big bathtubs, take them to the ocean and set them free." No need to panic.

Fishtanks? That's not necessarily going to give me a burning desire to watch this video. I'll probably see it on Fuse fast enough. I'll give them points for originality but, much like their song titles, I'll take points away for genuine lack of good taste.

Fishtanks? I'll have to see the final result for myself, but based on the still shot, it appears Panic have stepped on the wrong side of stupid and clever.
What is this video, like, a Bizarro Sandy Squirrel? The entire population of Bikini Bottom (sans Sandy) coming up to dry land?

What is this video, like, a Bizarro Sandy Squirrel? The entire population of Bikini Bottom (sans Sandy) coming up to dry land? Exactly. You know, I never would have thought I'd say this, but it seems Panic! are trying endlessly to make music that hasn't been heard before. There is grating repetition not only in their song titles, but in the repeating circus/Mardi Gras/Moulin Rouge themes in their videos, and dare I say it, in the music itself. If this band doesn't change their sound completely with their next album, I can safely call this band a one-album wonder. I bet in two years, if they don't dramatically alter their image, we will be wondering what the hell happened to Panic! at the Disco. Which is a shame, because I like them - I think they're musically talented and at least somewhat original, if repetitive. Considering they are still only 19, it's quite a shame, but you pay for what you get.

Its cute and really fits the song. You think so? I felt that the music didn't fit whatever the hell was going on. I'm glad that they've tried something different, but I was definitely bored.

I don't think the music fit the song either. It's not the most exciting video, that's for sure.

^ Hah. Last video (and single), leaving 5 singles off this album. I really think this is one of the better albums of the year, and many of the songs are radio-friendly. I would've liked seeing "Nails For Breakfast, Tacks For Snacks" as a single though...

Can Brendon look any more like Pete Wentz? Probably another factor in the label signing. ??? OK... Well, I guess I didn't clarify what I meant. When Panic! first came out, I thought it was more than coincidence why they were signed. It wasn't necessarily talent, it was the baffling similarities between those two bands. Both vocalists sounded the same, both bands played exactly similar styles of music, and both had bizarre song titles. I'm sure when Pete was considering their signing to his record label, the fact that he looked like their lead singer rolled through his mind as well. That's all I'm saying.

102 61 PANIC! AT THE DISCO Lying Is The Most Fu... 130 51 79 2.254
Look at that audience impression!!! :o The fact that the song has been receiving minimal airplay for several months has probably helped, but still quite impressive.
I guess this will be the official official official third radio single from the album? It may enter the top 50 by next weekend's update, so we'll see :)

I honestly like this song the least of everything on the album, but its still not bad. I'm not sure what else they could have picked since almost any song on the album is just about single material.

I agree; almost anything aside from "Introduction" and "Intermission" could be released as a single. Personally, after listening to it again the other day, I think "London Beckoned Songs About Money Written by Machines" could be a good single. But this one is good too.

I'm not sure why I don't have the songs Friday and Tortuga mentioned on my iPod...they were probably like the only 2 that didin't catch my attention. But, I also agree. Anything can pretty much serve as a single, which is why I consider this one of the better albums of the year.

Well, I guess I didn't clarify what I meant. No, I understood everything you said the first time. I disagree that they look alike and don't believe that crossed Pete's mind at all, either.

That is one of my most hated songs from them. For me, catchy doesn't always mean good.
