First single from their upcoming third album and follow-up to 2004's Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge, due out October 24th. The video is being made as we speak and is directed by Samuel Bayer.

I knew of My Chemical Romance before all you poseurs. Not really. I wonder who was into them before their 2nd LP. Some of the songs I heard from that album were unbereable.

I've listened to their first album and I have to agree. There are a few good songs but most are lacking the spit, polish, and melody found in Three Cheers.

I'll admit I didn't know who they were until I heard I'm Not Okay, and as the singles kept coming, I became more impressed. I ended up downloading Three Cheers, and still declare them as one of my favorite new bands over the past few years. I'm definitely looking forward to hearing this new material.

I read the other day that the album was tentatively slated for October 24, but I thought, "Yeah, right, this'll get pushed back to next year."
Pleasantly suprised, I am. I wonder if "Shut Up and Play" will be on it. (It was the new song they did on their headlining tour last fall.)
I think the first album was great. Yeah, they got, like, three times better on the second album in terms of songwriting, production, and arrangements, but still, there are a bunch of great songs on it.

I first heard of them like a year before the release of their second album, when I tried to download a song for a friend from them. I didn't give them much thought, since I didn't like the song much, but I was really into their second CD. Brilliant, "Helena" and "The Ghost Of You", I thought. Looking forward for this! According to Wikipedia (yeah, I know, "unreliable"...whatever), it seems they've retracted this song title, and it remains "unannounced".

I like the title, I wish I could at least listen to a snippet.
This will likely pull a "Bling" or "I Only Like You When I'm High" and I fully expect the album to get pushed back to next year. MCR are still touring, and I haven't heard anything about their finished recordings from their last album. MTV would have reported it anyway.
Much like Fall Out Boy, I don't really expect their next album to do particularly well, unless it blows me away musically.

They're just starting to get back out there on the road. And it's not MTV, but here's a Billboard article about them and the new album: www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1002915760

I won't! When 9/11 rolls around, I'll say to myself, "Hey, that new song with the extended title by My Chemical Romance goes for adds today! Hot-diggity-damn!"

Just a sort of heads-up. The band will premiere this song live at the MTV VMAs pre-show.

I knew Green Day's influence of a concept album would rub off on someone... should have known MCR would be the ones to do it first.

^I dont think concept albums are all that rare in rock music?
I cant wait to hear this-I have a feeling I will either love it or loathe it.

They should've waited a little longer to release that obligatory "serious" album we get from bands like them. I do have high hopes, but it could suck.

their MTV pre-VMA performance: www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CUp2a7OD0AI like it, but it is too long and epic to be a radio hit. Should do around as well as Green Day's Jesus of Surburbia.

The performance on the VMA's sucked. Bigtime.
Maybe the studio version will be a lot better, but that was the worst performance of the night.

This is a freaking awesome song. I love how until it picks up, they're playing like a Guns N' Roses type sound and picks up to their typical stuff. I'm assuming the intro will have to be cut for radio somehow. I don't recall if Coheed and Cambria's Welcome Home was edited for radio or not, but this has a similar intro length. I hope this is the first song on the new album since its a perfect one to start with.

I saw the show. Shakira gave the worst performance for me and that sucks because I'm fan of her music. Well, her spanish music to be specific. Songs like "Hips Don't Lie" will always sound bad live or on record though. Panic! at the Disco also sounded like crap.
But I was actually impressed by MCR's performance of this song. The vocals weren't great but everything else was interesting and exciting.

The HQ?
The Headquarters?
The secret underground MCR Headquarters thousands of miles below the Earth's crust or beneath the floor of the ocean or miles above the planet in space or maybe just in the Grand Canyon where everyone can see it?
I dare someone to get that reference.

The performance on the VMA's sucked. Bigtime. Maybe the studio version will be a lot better, but that was the worst performance of the night. This was hands-down the best performance of the night. I loved it: the military approach to the snare drum, the intro, the '70's David Bowie/Queen feel to the whole song, the black-and-white skeleton look of the old Revolutionary war-era uniforms the band wore, the boys choir all painted up like skeletons, the epic aerial shots on top of the skyscraper, the dusk setting. And I had advance warning from a studio photo or two, but Gerard's a short-haired white-blonde now. It was just starting right when I got home and turned on the TV and as it was going on, I knew immediately that nothing was going to top it, regardless of who else performed that night. Very much looking forward to The Black Parade. Edit: Here's an article from MTV.com about it, including this shocking tidbit: www.mtv.com/news/articles/1539521/20060828/my_chemical_romance.jhtml
