1. Incubus - Anna Molly 2. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Snow (Hey Oh)
(The rest in no particular order) Three Days Grace - Pain Modest Mouse - Dashboard My Chemical Romance - Famous Last Words Incubus - Dig Nine Inch Nails - *1st single* Linkin Park - *1st single* Smashing Pumpkins - *1st single* 2 new (and now relatively unknown) acts will surprise everyone and go #1, probably late in the year.
Anyone care to make their predictions?

^^ I hope there'll be more than just 9 #1 hits this year. But I'm not good at these predictions so I'll leave it to the experts.

Well, if you include the two new acts, it would be 11. There were only 11 last year because of the long runs by MCR & RHCP. And I believe Smashing Pumpkins & Linkin Park will likely remain #1 for 7+ weeks.

Give MCR another one.
Are Green Day releasing a new album this year? If so, give them one too.

I think that Snow could remains at n.1 for other 2-3 weeks..Pain is in increase but not so much...could reach n.1 Famous Last World from MCR before than pain..

The Almost - Say This Sooner Say Anything - Wow, I Can Get Sexual Too Silversun Pickups - Well Thought Out Twinkles Brand New - Jesus Christ I know none of these have any chance in hell of going to #1, but if they somehow manage to go there... then I have bragging rights! Ok, I'll do some safer predictions. MCR 3rd single - (Teenagers?) FOB 2nd single - (If they pick the right song ) The Killers - Read My Mind

Linkin Park's new single will either debut at #1 or reach #1 within a week's time, and wll reach #1 before either "Dashboard", "Famous Last Words" or "Dig" does.
I'll also be one who predicts the Smashing Pumpkins do not reach #1 with their forthcoming lead single. It'll still have a respectable peak I think, but even many fans are only half-excited or even not that excited at all about this comeback in that they feel it's not an honest comeback and more of a desperate move by Billy Corgan to return to the national stage. Thus, I think they'll fall short of the top spot.
Also remember that the Foo Fighters are entering the studio next month to begin recording their next studio album, and are seeing to it their next album is released by Christmas of this year. Another #1 from them is all but certain considering their amazing commerical consistency, and I think it's also highly likely Linkin Park will release a second single well before year's end, so more than one #1 is likely.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Sure #1's Linkin Park- TBA Modest Mouse- Dashboard The Killers- Read My Mind (wait until video brings hype\marketing goes full affect) Nine Inch Nails- Spring TBA
Possible Top 5's Killers- Why Do I Keep Counting? Smashing Pumpkins- Summer TBA Bravery- Spring TBA My Chemical Romance- Famous Last Words Foo Fighters- Summer TBA Postal Service- Outstanding Razorlight- America Incubus- Dig Nightmare Of You- My Name Is Trouble 30 Seconds To Mars- Fall TBA Augustana- Bullets U2- TBA Coldplay- Fall TBA
I think Linkin Park will have two songs in Top 5 simutaneously by Summer. This album will be huge, or at worst, a complete disaser.

Does Chevelle have a chance at #1?
I am pretty sure that Modest Mouse will miss out on #1.
Jimmy Eat World could sneak into #1 for a week or two if just happens to be released at the right time while bigger songs aren't at their peaks.
I'm not sure when the Green Day and U2 albums are going to be released, but if they're around the same time, Green Day could be a strong enough juggernaut to prevent U2 from reaching the #1 spot.

Chevelle has 5% chance at #1. It's hard when the whole format won't even play them. I think this song will break Top 3 though.
