U2 and Green Day have teamed up for this Katrina-relief single. What's Goin On (the Aids/911 relief) didn't do to well anywhere but I'm thinking this could be successful given the two bands contributing to it. What are its prospects at Alt? other rock formats? AAA? HAC? CHR? Downloads?

Way to strike the iron when it's hot. I joined the board about a week ago and wanted to get some opinions on it. Thanks for the necessary sarcasm.

If it's being marketed for the purpose of being a charity single, for some reason those don't seem to do well. If they treated it as a regular single that happened to give all the proceeds to charity then maybe it could be a big hit.
Is it good? Is this song the song they were doing that was going to appear on U2's next album?

I thought it sounded good in person. Of course, with the atmosphere in the Superdome, just about any song would have sounded great. I'll wait for a studio version, if one is indeed coming, to form a true opinion on it.

I was noting that Hurricane Katrina was now over a year ago. Sure money and things are still needed as donations, but who's going to be interested in donating because of a relief single...Now?

"Proceeds from the release of 'The Saints Are Coming' will go to Music Rising, an initiative co-founded by The Edge which helps musicians who lost their instruments during Hurricane Katrina."
Just so we're clear on what the charity is.

I was initially disappointed by this, but it has grown on me over the last couple of days. I see this blowing up for a few weeks, then crashing just as quickly.
