It should be Possession, even though I've burned out on it a little.
Beg is a good choice though.

Honestly, what will a third single from these guys really accomplish, chartwise?

In all fairness, Over was a bad choice. Beg should've been the follow-up from the beginning with Possession being the third. Cold did pretty decently though.

I agree. But I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that was their fleeting moment in the spotlight.

After hearing this song, I decided to check out Evans Blue's album and was pretty impressed. This is my favorite out of the three singles now, and most the non-singled tracks were even better. I think this band has potential, and while they haven't hit it too big just yet (especially on Alternative), I'm going to watch them closely when their next album comes out in the future.

I just gave this a listen for a first time. It's okay but I think I'd like it more if the dude's voice did not bug me so much. Definately better than 'Over' though.

Evans Blue are the type of group that I want to like. I love similar groups like Nonpoint, Chevelle, etc. but I can't bring myself around to these singles.

funny, i like chevelle, and evans blue, but i cant seem to like nonpoint. lol was "Over" thier second single? i know Cold was the frist. i liked cold, but it did sound a lot like So Cold-breaking benjamin, since they are how i heard about Evans blue, i have to make the connection. has Beg officially gone for adds? ive seen its been hovering around 60+ plays on rock charts, but not much more.
could someone maybe post past chart sucess of this band?

Yeah, Over was second. I'm pretty sure Beg went for adds a few weeks ago, but I could be wrong. FMQB's Airplay Archieve doesn't have it in there.

It hasn't gone for adds yet at all. And it was never on FMQB's chart.
What's in those pills, anyway?

could someone maybe post past chart sucess of this band? On Alternative - "Cold (But I'm Still Here)" peaked at about #23 in April and spent 20 weeks on the top 50 chart. No other single has charted yet.

What's in those pills, anyway? God knows. All I know is that if I have to stand as far as away from them as possible when opening the container so I don't get affected by the permeating smell that someone in Cuba could probably pick up the scent, something's f**ked up with them. Here's a lesson kids: Don't take vitamins that say "Mega Men" on them, because who knows, you may actually turn into one of the most awesome video game characters in history. Anyway, I guess this has the same situation as Breaking Benjamin's "Breath". We're just waiting and waiting for an adds date and we'll all have a celebration on the day it happens

I wish I could be Mega Man; then I could have an awesome album made about my exploits.
Bonus points to anyone who knows what album I'm talking about.

Mega Man 2 has the best music of any video game ever. The songs I remember the best are from Mega Man 3. Every time I hear "This Tanbark Is Hot Lava" by dredg, it reminds me of the MM3 theme song.

This was on Evans Blue's Myspace...presumably posted by Kevin Matisyn...
The great download debate: A musician's view.
I want to thank everyone who has purchased our album. Do you want to know why? I'll tell you. It's because sometimes it seems like more people have stolen our music then who have bought so you are in the minority (stolen downloads are kept track of to some extent). Does that make sense to you? Can you imagine what that means to us? Picture this if you will. You spend 6 months of your life working on something, designing it, building it, losing sleep over it, losing friends because of it and finally finishing it. Then you show it off to the world. You are so proud of what you have made and nothing can wipe the smile off your face. It was a struggle at times but it was worth it to finally hold it in your hands. You wake up one morning to look at your beautiful creation and it is gone; after all of your hard work you find that someone has just taken it from you. Is that clear? How about this? You spend years going to school. You work hard to get good grades because you are passionate about what you want to do. It gets tough and sometimes you feel like you want to quit but you keep going and going until that faithful day when you graduate. You stand tall and proud on the stage as your friends and family see first hand what you have accomplished. The next few months you find yourself in employment in that field that you love so much. You work your new job and you are on cloud nine. The time passes and pay day is on the horizon. You get your check and are shocked to see all zeros. You worked so hard and sacrificed so much time and energy for all zeros. Would that be worth it to you? Would that be the silver lining on cloud nine? It seems that people are under the impression that stealing music hurts only the labels that put the music out. Well I can assure you that may be true but if the label is hurt who else is? In a business that thrives off sales and profit how do you expect your favorite band to go on if they aren't meeting pre determined quotas? I'm not talking about these big bands that are already rich beyond compare. I'm talking about new music. I've seen the death of a lot of great bands because no one bought their cds and they got dropped. It sucks. I own around 800 cds and some bands only have one. It's a great cd but it didn't sell so it is the only cd. That is such a sad thing. People stole the music; they stole that one hit they heard on the radio. So as far as that fan is concerned that is the only good song. Another way to keep a band around is to go see them live, but would you go to a concert to see one song? Would you shell out 20 bucks for one or two songs? I sure wouldn't. If you're not going to pay money for a cd that could last a lifetime why would you spend the money for something that lasts an hour? We as a band try to make it up to our fans. We understand that cds can be expensive and we don't care if you find our B-sides or demos on Limewire. We write songs that aren't on the cd so we can offer them whenever we can for free. I have no problem writing songs just to give to you all as a thank you for being so loyal. Take our videos, take our pictures, and take posters off the wall we don't care about that stuff. All we ask is that you buy the album songs fairly and justly. We'll do what we can to make being a fan of ours worth it. This is really a give and take relationship we have. You are the ones who pay our pay checks so you are the ones we want to keep happy. We have a responsibility to be the best we can be for our fans and we won't abuse this position by being huge jerks or having massive egos, that's a promise. I'm not sure a lot of people understand that notion but don't ever think that we take what we have for granted or that you as fans owe us something. In the grand scheme we, the band, owe you something and that is good music and a certain level of professionalism in our live performances. We are not out to get rich; that shouldn't be anyone's motivation in life. We make music because we are passionate about it. I have lived well off and I have lived incredibly poor and my happiness was not defined by either. The rich and famous plateau makes me sick these days and I want no part of it. It's a sad world of celebrity. It really is. Look at the lifestyle. They are in no way better off than you so don't believe the hype. They are maybe financially better off but do you think that makes them happy. Some of my best friends are what I would call happy people and I don't see them getting arrested for DUI. I don't see them getting busted for drug possession. I don't see them flaunting their half naked bodies around the town or getting divorced on a bi-yearly basis. I don't ever want that fame or to be excessively rich. It is fake and I hope you can see that. I am a firm believer that actions speak louder than words and the actions of the rich don't speak to me much at all. I've seen people with nothing donating their weekends to work for a food bank. You want to know something? That is moving, that is defining what life is about. My life's goals are to pay off my mom's house and send my son to a decent school. If my music career ends and those goals are achieved I will be a happy man. If I have to go work at a coffee shop or some other job for the rest of my life afterwards I will be satisfied. If you knew me well you would know that I am not very caught up in many material things. If you gave me 1000 dollars I'd put $950 in my son's account and maybe buy volume 3 of Futurama. It's a done deal! I'd like to thank you again for buying our cd and any other new band's cd that is out there on the market. 32 Leaves, 10 Years, Flyleaf, etc the list is almost as endless as it is impressive. Thank you for keeping NEW music alive.

do they deliver anything special/unique about their music? no are they catchy? no do they have the same formula as most rock bands do on radio? yes are they worth buying? NO
they shouldnt complain when their music doesnt deliver. I dont know what the price is in the states, but its hard to find under $21. thats almost $2 a song! maybe cheaper in the states which is always nice but here, its not worth my money.
the fall of the music industry isn't because of music downloading. they need to look outside of the box. its dvds!!! people are spending huge amounts of money on movies and tv shows being released on dvd. you can argue with me on that point but I wont change my mind. until dvd's come down in price or every tv show ever has been released on dvd (which at this rate should be within the next year), cd sales will still suffer.

I don't quite see how this follows logically. I understand that media is competing with each other for the wallets of consumers, but just as many people steal movies and television series as music. Maybe not quite as many, since music is faster, and therefore easier, to steal, but there's still quite a good amount of people who steal what they can get their hands on. Furthermore, while DVDs are competing for the attention of buyers, it's not because the DVDs are somehow more worthwhile or better than an album. It's because people have a limited amount of income and will buy what product gives them the most satisfaction. If you want to bring DVDs into it, then you can also bring video games into the mix too. But just as this suggests that people will buy a movie or game over an album, they might just as easily do the opposite. My question to you is, even if CD sales are down, and maybe DVD sales are up, has it been statistically proven that DVD sales have a direct effect on CD sales? I highly doubt that it has, and I think that would be fairly difficult to prove. You can't just blame one type of media for the demise of the other in this scenario.

I use dvd's as an example cause its reasonable. they've become extremely popular in recent years. people only have so much income they can spend on entertainment. as my point, you're gonna buy one or the other.
show me proof that downloading music is causing the industry to fail. yes everyone says it but its like wikipedia, if enough people agree that its the truth. I have yet to see actual data saying that its killin the industry. maybe the industry shouldnt pump out so much crap. instead push the good artists instead of having 429834832 artists do poorly.
I see rock records barely selling at my store. its all pop and A/C these days. yes rock records sell but comparing to other genres, its shit.
I know Im all over the place. however some people cant think beyond words and think for themseleves and see what Im saying. instead of lookin at the deeper meaning, they look at the surface. pick the points and connect them and you'll see what I mean.
