"Famous Last Words" is the second single from the album, The Black Parade, and the tenth single by the New Jersey-based band, My Chemical Romance. The single is expected to be released January 22, 2007.
It was announced that the "secret" second video from new My Chemical Romance album The Black Parade would be "Famous Last Words". This is the video that caused vocalist Gerard Way and drummer Bob Bryar the injuries they sustained (Bryar, a bad burn to the leg which subsequently became infected and Way, a torn ligament in his ankle), which forced them to cancel a handful of their 2006 dates.

I think it is a decent song. I've only listened to it once, so time will tell.

Good choice. I've listened to the album now about five times, and in my opinion its one of the more memorable and radio friendly tracks on there.

I'm a little disappointed in this choice. When I listen to it, I think it's a great song and is perfect for closing their album with (which is exactly why it does). I do not, however, hear "successful radio song" when I listen. It will do fine because of who they are and because "Welcome to the Black Parade" is such a success, but it's not the best choice they could've made for a surefire follow-up smash.
By the way, the beginning of their new album reminds me of the beginning of Good Charlotte's last CD (if you skip track 1): A reasonably short mission statement song, if you will, that starts out with stripped down acoustic guitar and vocal all with a hospital life support system underneath, which reappears at the end to bleed right into the next track.

All Access has apparently scrapped this. They may have either pushed it back or scrapped it altogether.

Interesting. To me, the next logical choice would be "This Is How I Disappear," unless the label wants to rush right into one of those "surefire power-ballads" like "Disenchanted" or "I Don't Love You." Maybe even "Cancer," though the lyrics seem a little too morose to sell, despite the melody being as catchy as a Beatles tune.

After two months of listening to it, I think it is one of their best.

The video could've been a little more exciting. This song is a grower, I love it so much now.

The video could've been a little more exciting. I read that it was going to be all live performance, but yeah, you're right. I felt the film editing could have been better, too, honestly.

I really don't like this one at all. For me, it gets worse with every listen. It's just...irritating.

So... I've been listening to "My Chemical Romance" since NJ, way back in the day, and similarly to everyone's complaints with FOB and TBS, their music has become more pop-ish. This is a result of the evolution of music. The bands are beginning to make money and their albums are selling, be happy for them, instead of criticizing them for being main stream!

Are you kidding? I think it's gotten less pop-friendly.

Are you kidding? I think it's gotten less pop-friendly. Agreed Their last album (and I know people with attack this, but sorry) was such an attempt to fit into the whole "hot topic" band movement. Helena, Im Not Okay? Come on. I mean, catchy songs, but obviously geared towards an MTV crowd. The new cd sounds more genuinely rock to me, but also better hence why its becoming more popular. (At least I like to think its doing better because of the quality...that is perhaps me being less cynical than I should be)

Much much much better than Welcome to the Black Parade and one of the best songs on the album.

I'm finally getting into this one now but I'm not going to like it much more than I do. Not one of my favourites from the disc.
