I think it's the hardest Chevelle record I've heard yet, although I need to give it a few more spins to really let it sink in, but they really do use blast beats on some songs, just like they said they would. Sounds promising...

This song doesn't look like it will make the Top 5 on Active Rock. I like a lot of their songs but this one just doesn't hit me like "Vitamin R" and "The Clincher". It's kind of bland, ya know. Yes I am much more concerned about their performance on Active Rock than on Alternative. You see in the Twin Cities we really do not have a real alternative station. 105.7 is much more AAA leaning, really. And I listen to 93X prominently. once i listened to all of Vena Sera, Well enough Alone seemed like a bad choice, this album seems to have a lot of depth, Humanoid, Brainiac, and Straight Jacket Fashon are better IMO

I don't really like Humanoid that much. Doesn't stand out enough. Brainiac, The Fad, Saferwaters, Saturdays, and I Get It are all great though.

The only problem is that I can't think of an immediate followup to WEA.
Maybe Saferwaters, but you figure with them releasing Well Enough Alone that they ought to release something a little heavier.

I say Brainiac should be the next single.

I'm listening to Vena Sera now. I guess it really is basically as good and hard rocking like you've all said. I'll have to hear it again another time to listen closely to specific songs when I actually got some sleep the night before. Now everything just sounds like one continuous song to me while being half asleep.

So, now that's I've listened to Vena Sera for the third time and am much more awake now than two days earlier, I've come to conclusion that I like this album more than previous ones. I'd say more than half of the songs on the album could be choices for future singles. Antisaint, Brainiac, Straight Jacket Fashion, The Fad, and Humanoid are all fine choices by me.
