As I've mentioned before, I work at OfficeMax, and there's an alternative/pop station that plays over the speakers that most times tends to belt out some pretty decent songs.
Yesterday, I happened to hear Coldplay's "A Message", which I thought was really rather odd because to my knowledge, it was never a single, and as far as I know, the station we play doesn't play non-singles, so I thought this was really out of the ordinary, to the point where I'm starting to wonder if maybe "A Message" was or will be a single at some point.
Anyone got an explanation for this curious turn of events? Not that I'm complaining, since it's a good song.

I've certainly never heard "A Message" on the radio, nor have seen or heard word they will actually push another single from "X&Y".
Sometimes radio stations in retail play album tracks in their selections. I've heard "Problem Girl" by Rob Thomas on an Applebee's station once (funny because Rob Thomas admitted in an interview Applebee's sucks, LOL!) and I heard "Miracle Drug" by U2 when at Qdoba recently.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

That's interesting to know. I guess I'll just have to keep an ear out for these little surprises. I was already intrigued that OMX plays Embrace's "Nature's Law" so much considering their lack of popularity over here.

This brings to mind the couple of times I heard "What If" at Taco Bell. I know Nick's commented on this before, but their music selection is pretty good. It's always nice to hear a pop song from five or seven years ago I hadn't heard in a long time.

Yeah, I find a lot of satellite radio or mall radio type stations play a lot of songs that were never released. Some examples I can think of are 'Weight Of The World' by Chantal Kreviazuk, 'Sleep All Day' by Jason Mraz, 'You Owe Me Nothing In Return' by Alanis Morissette and 'The Lone Wolf' by Kathleen Edwards.
