So, are they now going to have two third singles at the same time or what?

Absolute Punk: Teenagers is the US single; the UK gets I Don't Love You.

I actually can't care which one the single is. They could release any song off the album as a single and it would make sense. I just throw up my hands and say whatever.

Good, "I Don't Love You" should stay as a UK single and never be released here. This is the best song they could've picked to prove they aren't a whiny "emo-gawth" band.

No, instead they'll be a whiny pop band. I'm sure that's better.

People who don't understand music will try to pigeonhole these guys no matter what songs of theirs get released. You just gotta push them aside and realize that The Black Parade is one of the best releases of 2006, and be proud of the success it's given them. Actually the best if you asked me. Seriously, any song would work. Even "Blood" (well, maybe not).

"Welcome To The Black Parade" is one of the best songs of this decade.

Decade seems a little extreme. Year? Sure, okay.

It is only seven years...

"Teenagers" was already getting so much love on Alternative radio thus far. This only made sense.
Hearing the chorus edited so many times will be obnoxious to put up with, but that's what you get when you swear in a single. Also, I don't have MTV anymore, so it won't make much difference, but I wonder if they'll do anything with the implied retaliation violence in the second verse...

Cool, I like this more than "I Don't Love You". I also agree with this:

Well, FMQB has now removed "Teenagers" and placed it under TBA. I wish they'd make up their minds already.

I don't understand why they'd change it. It's already in the Top 50 on Alternative.

I was wondering if the "What you got under your shirt will make them pay for the things that they did" line would cause the label to hold back on this after Virginia Tech. Glad the label has some balls and still appears to be going through with it.

I was wondering if the "What you got under your shirt will make them pay for the things that they did" line would cause the label to hold back on this after Virginia Tech. I hadn't thought of that, having not listened to the song around the time of the shooting. Balls if it ends up working just fine, naivete/insensitive foolishness if it bombs spectacularly or even gets merely a tepid reception.

It went for adds already. Like this week. It's #48 on Alternative.

Yeah, it's doing fine now, and will do fine, I'd say. Mtv will censor "drugs" and "shit", but i think neither Alternative's target demographic nor the soccer moms who are their parents that would actually complain are intelligent enough to channel those lyrics into the shootings. "Let the bodies hit the floor", yeah. "Click, click, boom", sure. This song: not so much.

I wasn't even aware "Click Click Boom" had that kind of reception. I know "Bodies" did, but I never would have made that kind of association with Saliva.

The week after the attacks, "Bodies" took the heaviest hit, obviously, and the second biggest drop was "Because I Got High", which was just falling naturally. Saliva was virtually tied for third along with "Bleed American", which is one I never understood because I always thought to bleed American would be more of an expression of patriotism than anything. If the title was actually "Bleed, American", that's another story, but that's not the case.

I never understood that either. And then they changed the title of the album to a self-titled, but I've always called it Bleed American regardless. It seems so ridiculous.

I like it, but I can't imagine hearing it on the radio. I almost feel weird playing it myself because of V Tech

For some reason, I'm not fully feeling this song. It sounds like almost anthemic in some ways but I'm not liking it as much as 'Famous Last Words', which took me a long time to catch on to. There are other songs on the album that I like much more.

The intangible familiarity of the melody coupled with the lyrics makes it a bit of a novelty song...
