According to VR fan site "Below Empty", this will be the first single off of Libertad.

A person I work with actually met Slash and another member from Velvet Revolver (can't remember which one, it wasn't Scott). He let him listen to the first four songs from the album. He said one was an instant hit - it sounded similar but even more epic than "Fall To Pieces".
Really looking forward to new music from VR.

I never cared much for "Fall To Pieces", since "You Got No Right" had the same idea and executed it much better. I thought "Dirty Little Thing" was a bad choice when "Do It For The Kids" and "Big Machine" were so much better. "Slither" was the only one I agreed with.

I agree with "Dirty Little Thing" being a bad choice. "Sucker Train Blues" was better, even if the first verses of those songs were similar.

It's disheartening to know that former MTV2 rock VJ Abby Gennet is having Brett Scallions' child and is also married to him, I believe. Perhaps she was never as cool as I thought she was. Sure is a looker, though.

The person who sings for Fuel is supposed to be Toryn Green, formerly of Something To Burn. There are a couple of new songs on Fuel's website now. They're pretty good, I thought, but he doesn't have the distinctive voice of Brett Scallions.

For some reason, the title "She Builds Quick Machines" reminds me of the early episode of Seinfeld where Kramer has to go "steal" his ladykilling jacket back from some guy (who's out of town) by having Elaine pose as the guy's daughter while Kramer pretends to be her scholarly fiance (his first portrayal of his pipe-smoking "Dr. Martin Van Nostren" character) and conning the landlord into letting them into the guy's apartment.
Anyway, the landlord is mentioning of how fond the tenant is of his daughter (whom Elaine is pretending to be) and how proud he is of her work. Elaine, flattered, says, "Well, we're all proud of the work I do." And then Kramer adds, almost smugly, "She does fine work."
(Later, as they enter the apartment, Kramer's pipe whacks against the door frame. :))
Anyway, it probably doesn't read as funny as seeing it on TV, and it's quite possible none of you have a clue as to what I'm talking about. Oh well.

For some reason I don't remember this episode at all, and I know I've seen every single one. I'm going to be on the lookout for this now like a freaking hawk. Seinfeld's the only show where I could watch an episode fifty times and still find it funny.

Don't bother, I just looked up which one it was. It was the episode where they all think George's girlfriend needs a nose job.

Ah. That's not one that's on too often, but I know I've seen it. This is an unusual direction that this thread is turning into I still have yet to hear this song.

I downloaded the new album... well it's rather disappointing. 2/5 stars from me.

I like it but it seems less diverse lyrically and musically than the first one. Gets a 3.5/5 from me.

Hmm, I'm not liking these reviews so far. I thought Contraband was good but not great. With that being said, I'm going to try to listen to this new album with very low expectations and who knows, maybe I'll like it.

Always try to have the least amount of expectations going into something, that's what I always say. It's so easy to get so excited about something that you end up disappointed.

Well I have to disagree with the reviews here and say that I like this new album better than Contraband. Perhaps viewing it previously with very low expectations helped, but I think this has more a diverse sound unlike Contraband where I thought 2/3 of the songs didn't sound much different from one another. Still, I don't think it's even close to an amazing album and may be the worst one I've heard this year, but then again I'm not a ginormous fan of this kind of post-grunge/southern rock type of rock music in the first place, but I will be keeping the album.

Okay, I don't know what's gotten into you, but you need to calm the fuck down before you blow a fuse.
I wasn't calling you a loser, I was calling you wishy-washy from the way you're saying "You guys are wrong, it's a great album, but I don't like it, and it's the worst album I've heard all year, but it's still good enough for me to keep it."
I'm not poking fun at your opinion, I'm poking fun at the fact that you don't have an opinion. What you have is a paragraph that seems to be trying to appease to everyone who reads it. If you like the album, like it, if you hate it, hate it, but don't play this half and half position. Say what you mean and stand by it.
And Charlie Brown is not a loser. He's a fucking good sport. Goddammit.

I don't know what happened to my previous post, but sorry about all that. I don't know what got into me. It's just I see similar discussions on forums all the time that just go nowhere and eh I don't know what I'm saying here as usual :). Ok, I'll move on because what I'm saying now is a great example of well the previous point that I was making and now I'm violating it.

Libertad debuted at #5 on the Billboard Top 200 with 92,000 copies sold. This is quite a step down from Contraband which debuted at #1 and sold 256,000 copies in it's first week.
