If I haven't heard of the song or the artyist, I don't predict it. If I haven't heard a song but have heard the artist, I will put a prediction in parentheses to show where I think the next release for that artist (regardless of song) will peak.
Trapt/Headstrong - #13 (PLEASE don't hit Top 10!) Stacie Orrico/More To Life - #9 Lil Jon-Eastsideboys/Get Low - #11 (see Trapt) Kelly Clarkson/Low - #15 with fast fall Hillary Duff/So Yesterday - #19 Pink/Trouble - #27 John Mayer/Bigger Than My Body - #30 Baby Bash/Suga Suga - #17 Liz Phair/Why Can't I - #32 Matchbox Twenty/Bright Lights - #27 Pharrell-Jay-Z/Frontin' #9 Staind/So Far Away - (#34) Outkast/Hey Ya - (#39) Nickelback/Someday - (#22) Simple Plan/Perfect - (#14) Bow Wow/Let's Get Down - #40 Mandy Moore/Have A Little Faith In Me - (below Top 40) Black Eyed Peas/Shut Up - (#6) Michelle Branch/Breathe - (#5) Evanescence/Going Under - (below Top 40) Jewel/Stand - (#6 or #31) All-American Rejects/Time Stands Still - (#39) Fuel/Falls On Me - (below Top 40) Ludacris/Stand Up - (#37) Sheryl Crow/First Cut Is The Deepest - (#29) Missy Elliott/Pass The Dutch - (#15) Clay Aiken/Invisible - (below Top 40)

Why does everyone think Pink is going to hit #1 ??? The song's not that kind of material. It's #8 then "fizzle-out" type song.

Um, I'm not sure if you know this or not...but all of these songs are already higher than your predicted peaks... Crash46 doesn't like to "cheat" by looking at the chart as he makes his predictions. ;) Now, for my predictions: Trapt/Headstrong- #7 Stacie Orrico/More To Life- #9 Lil Jon-Eastsideboys/Get Low- #7(a lot higher than it should be) Kelly Clarkson/Low- #15 Hillary Duff/So Yesterday- #14 Fountains of Wayne/Stacy's Mom- #6 Pink/Trouble- #4(it's not even all that radio friendly, but Pink is, unfortunatly, one of pop radio's favorite artists right now. Not to mention there's nothing else charging up the chart right now that's likely to stop it.) John Mayer/Bigger Than My Body- #13 Baby Bash/Suga Suga- #18 Liz Phair/Why Can't I- #16 Matchbox Twenty/Bright Lights- #12 Pharrell-Jay-Z/Frontin'- #17 Maria/I Give, You Take- #28 Staind/So Far Away- #20 Bubba Sparxxx/Deliverance- #21 Outkast/Hey Ya- #19 Nickelback/Someday- #6(it'll get there eventually, just not half as fast as "HYRM" Simple Plan/Perfect- #26 Fefe Dobson/Take Me Away- #25 Bow Wow/Let's Get Down- #40 Mandy Moore/Have A Little Faith In Me- #37( at least three-fourths of the panel is playing this, so there's no excuse for it to not go top 40) Black Eyed Peas/Shut Up- #30 Michelle Branch/Breathe- #4 Evanescence/Going Under- #35 Current - Below Top 50 Jewel/Stand- #33 Josh Kelley/Amazing- #32(it'll get there, just give it several more weeks) Mest/Jaded Blaque/I'm Good- haven't heard, but I'll guess #30 based on just its gains so far.) All-American Rejects/Time Stands Still- WNC Fuel/Falls On Me- #19 Ludacris/Stand Up- #39(lots of early airplay, but a low peak. Just like every other Ludacris song on CHR/Pop) O.A.R./Hey Girl- haven't heard, but it doesn't look like it'll chart Kiley Dean/Who Will I Run To? Sheryl Crow/First Cut Is The Deepest- In my opinion, this is getting an amazing amount of airplay considering it doesn't even have an adds date yet. #18, assuming it goes for adds. Missy Elliott/Pass The Dutch- haven't heard, but it looks like it could do pretty well. Clay Aiken/Invisible- #32

Thank you. I've never done this without somebody pointing that out. Maybe because what you do is pretty dumb? Would you make a pre-season prediction on who was going to win the championship in your favorite sport without looking at scouting and/or injury reports?

I don't look at the chart when I do that either. I try to remember the songs I've been following on the chart, but if it isn't that memorable of a song for me it is quite possible I'll predict a lower peak than where the song is currently at. Who cares? I could just as easily say I don't know, or that I don't want to predict on that song, but I throw a number up there for some of them anyway.

Well I don't think that's a very good comparison. If you look at the current position and trends of all these songs listed here, then it's pretty easy to guess its peak within 2 or 3 spots with just about every song. There's nothing exciting about that. I do it my way because, one, I like the challenge that comes with trying to guess how high up the charts a song will get just by hearing it, and two, I'm lazy. If you think it's dumb, well then you just better not do it that way.
