Well........the new week for charts is ready to begin, and already their is one huge shocker (in my case ) "Low" is terribly struggling.........despite the fact that most stations are playing the hell out of it. "Get Low" by Lil' Jon & The Eastside Boyz has passed Kelly for 18th & they have a +10 spins lead over Kelly......who now has a backwards bullet @ #19 God.....I'm suprised at how good "Get Low" is doing, despite the fact that it never offically went for adds. :o

"Get Low" will most likely get top 10. I remember when "Low" and "Get Low" debuted on the same week and Kelly took off 48-36, and "Get Low" not nearly as much.
Well, I guess it's pay-back time!
Will "CHUD" be able to keep its bullet for Sunday? My prediction for Top 5: 1. 1. Nelly - Shake Ya Tailfeather 2. 4. 3DD - Here Without You 3. 5. Beyonce - Baby Boy 4. 3. Christina - CHUD 5. 2. BEP - Where Is The Love?

3 Doors Down is now gaining over +1000! :o :o It looks like 2004's How You Remind Me / Hanging By A Moment / Everything You Want. Should they have waited two more months before releasing it to top the CHR/Pop Year-End charts two years in a row?
The same people who puked and vomitted at Gossip Folks and Right Thurr hitting the Pop Top 10 will do so when Get Low does it. Gee, I can't wait.

Haha, me too. I actually don't mind some of the rap songs like "Right Thurr," "Get Low," "Into You," and "Shake Ya Tailfeather." You can hate and curse and turn down these songs, but when the CHR/POP becomes HOT AC, you'll wish you had some CHR/RHYTHMIC mixed in again.
And also.....if people hate all these rap songs so much....why don't they just listen to HOT AC? CHR/POP is for people who have respect for many types of music....and for people who only like a certain type of music? Well that's why they have all the other charts.

"Get Low" may be the worst song of the year. It makes 'P.I.M.P" look like a masterpiece. Hopefully it slows down. If 3DD gains 150 spins per day as they have been doing this week, they may actually sneak into #1.

Should they have waited two more months before releasing it to top the CHR/Pop Year-End charts two years in a row? I doubt it will sustain long enough to be top 5 in 2004, but on the other hand, I'd say "When I'm Gone" would be 2003's Everything You Want/Hanging By A Moment/How You Remind Me. The same people who puked and vomitted at Gossip Folks and Right Thurr hitting the Pop Top 10 will do so when Get Low does it. Gee, I can't wait. For what it's worth, I thought "Gossip Folks" was great as opposed to the other two, but no point beating a dead horse.

I'm surprised at how well 3 Doors Down is doing. I would've thought they'd have a slow climb and peak in the lower part of the top 10, but now it looks like they'll beat Beyonce to #1!
And I hope "Get Low" slows down soon. That trash better not make top 10!

I just looked at the current pop chart and "Get Low" is the fifth best song on there (behind "Frontin", "Hey Ya!", "The Boys Of Summer", and "Going Under"). It would be delightful for it to enter the top ten very soon.

I hate "Get Low." This from the board's resident rhythmic fan. I don't like that type of hard core hip-hop, that's why I usually don't listen to urban or rhythmic stations.

I hate "Get Low." This from the board's resident rhythmic fan. I don't like that type of hard core hip-hop, that's why I usually don't listen to urban or rhythmic stations. Jojo on 95.7 said it wasn't hip-hop, it's "crunk". I am also sick and tired of people saying that people who don't like pop should just listen to Hot AC. Most people are not opposed to rap altogether. There are some great hip-hop tunes out there, and even in the past, some of these have made it on the pop chart. The thing is, in general, rap tunes are getting more vulgar and more expletive. In the past, these types of tunes would stay in their respective markets (urban or RHY), but now they are invading mainstream, which makes it hard to play, for example, "So Yesterday" and then "P.I.M.P." right after each other. Hence, pop PDs are choosing more hip-hop to balance this and the cycle has grown out of control. I listen to many different formats, but I am growing sick and tired of listening to my RHY station and then flipping to pop and hearing the same exact song. That's my main complaint.

I am also sick and tired of people saying that people who don't like pop should just listen to Hot AC. Actually, that's in response to the people who keep saying that there's too much c(rap) on pop radio. People who say that "people who don't like pop should just listen to Hot AC" are sick and tired of those who complain about rap. Don't turn the "sick and tired of" the other way round. I think its total 2003 spins are significantly lower than what EYW, HBAM and HYRM in their respective years (all of which probably received more than 200k spins) (Nickelback's is, if you consider Dec-Nov).

Actually I really liked Gossip Folks, I don't see why so many people hated the song, Chingy is okay, but "Get Low" has got to go, the song is just horrible, I agree about the 50 Cent part too, this song does make 50 Cent look great, and that's pretty pathetic! The spins between 3 Doors Down and Beyonce are widening and 3 Doors Down has a larger bullet, they could hit #1 next week! Matchbox Twenty is up to a much larger bullet now, great to see! Fountains of Wayne is really gaining. What happened to the Ataris, that song didn't last long, 3 weeks ago it's bullet was in the +500's, 1 1/2 weeks ago it had a small bullet, now it's down to -600!! That's crazy! I wonder if Kelly Clarkson has peaked?? "So Yesterday" is a great song, so if there was a song to knock out "Unwell" at least it's a good one, but Fountains of Wayne might get the chance too! So 2 good songs! Why are people talking about people who slam rhythmic/urban music, there are still those here who do the same thing to Hot AC, there just aren't as many! I have a feeling next week is going to be big and great!!

Is there any chance "Stacy's Mom" could be #1 in a few months?
Prediction for Pink: Her gains will decrease very slowly (like they have so far) and once she's down to 100-200 range she will just lose it all together. Any opinions?

Is there any chance "Stacy's Mom" could be #1 in a few months? I doubt it. It might not even be on the chart in a few months. I'm guessing it'll continue to rocket up the chart until it gets to the bottom part of the top 10, possibly as high as #5. Then it'll fall just as fast as it's rising. I really hope I'm right and this doesn't stick around too long. This is one of my favorite songs right now, but that will easily change if pop plays it too much.

She hasn't lost her bullet yet.
Are Mandy and Liz Phair done? Liz Phair has been around for awhile and I think its about time for her to have reached her peak. As for Mandy, if she's gone in a week I will be sad because this song would have never gotten a chance.
Looks like Gavin DeGraw will enter the Top 50 unbulleted! :) ;) Maybe stations will see that he enters the top 50 and then start playing him more!
Way below the chart: Thalia's "Baby I'm In Love" not doing well. Jessica Simpson "With You" and Eve 6 "Think Twice" bulletless already ???
Top of the chart: 50 Cent just about done (down to +20) Beyonce & Sean should be #4 by tomorrow and 3DD should be #2 by tomorrow or Sunday. Maroon 5, Santana, and Mya are held back in the traffic jam but could all gain a spot due to Black Eyed Peas.

The first two haven't gone for adds yet.
Eve 6 has though and I have no idea why this can't even make new and active.

Fountains of Wayne finally move up 1 more spot. Earlier today, despite being the current Greatest Gainer, they've only move up 1 to #22 over the past 5 days.

"Get Low," is quite a racy song.
My fourth grade students are singing it and that's a little disturbing. But the melody of the song itself is very pop friendly, and also quite catchy. I dig the track a lot. So I can see why it is meshing well on pop radio. As long as the radio edited versions are playing then I don't have a problem with it.

:adds "Low" by Kelly Clarkson to the 'popular females who have had flops this year' bin: And why is a #18 peaking song a "flop"? I am a little surprised that Get Low is gaining as much as it is. Yes, it is... um... crunk or whatever.... but I just know there are some stations that will never play this song (or if so, maybe 1 spin a week because of AT40). I hope this song falters soon.

An artist that had two top 5's in a row and then a song that peaked at #18 is a flop to me, espechally since "Low" is only the 2nd single!

I'll repeat myself and say CHR-Pop should have played the previous single, "Play No Games," the poppiest of the five singles I've heard by them and a song with two rappers who had made the CHR-Pop chart (Fat Joe and Trick Daddy). The things is I know Lil' Jon and the Eastside Boys wouldn't want their songs to do better on CHR-Pop than CHR-Rhythmic and Urban. "Baby Boy" is back to gaining more than "Here Without You." If "Here Without You" gets to Number 2 this week, it could gain over 1,000 more spins in the future and not get any higher.

It is going to be a battle to the Top next week! Right now it looks like Beyonce will get to go first though, she could jump from #4 to #1 next week. When was the last time that happened? With a new single already coming out soon that could have an effect on how long the song stays on top, I only say 2 weeks, if not just 1, 3 Doors Down has the power to easily knock her out and stay up there for a long time. Maroon 5 & Santana are 1,000 spins away, but their bullets are slowly decreasing. The next song with a decent bullet is Trapt at #14.

I hope this will be like the "Crazy In Love/Where Is The Love" race. Don't get me wrong, I DO want Baby Boy to reach #1, but that would be perfect if it went to #1 for 1-2 weeks and then 3 Doors Down took over for 3-6 weeks.
Baby Boy and Here Without You (either of them) will have to stay on the top for the next 5-6 weeks (whether one dominates or they both take turns) because there are no more "#1" songs approaching in the Top 20......
....or are there?

Christina will have to settle for a #3 peak, as 3 Doors Down has jumped over her. Beyoncé could be up to #3 by the final update.
50 Cent enters the top 10 with a weak bullet, so it looks like he won't get any higher than #9.
Is anyone else surprised at how well Baby Bash is doing? "Suga Suga" has even passed John Mayer and Liz Phair.
Top 40 entries this week should include Outkast, Michelle Branch, and Black Eyed Peas.
In addition to Michelle Branch, the top 50 entries should include Gavin DeGraw, Jewel, Josh Kelley, and Dido.
Evanescence lost their bullet :(
Whoa... Britney's got 442 spins already! Expect her to possibly make a big top 40 debut next week.

I can't think of any station that will refuse to play Here Without You and Baby Boy. They are two of the most mainstream songs ever to be released this year. Rhythmic-leaning stations will play 3DD's song as their token rock song to remain on the pop panel, and Baby Boy will also be played, albeit in moderate amounts, by the Hot AC-leaning ones.
The only other song this year that isn't offensive to both the Rhythmic and Hot AC leaning groups was Miss Independent, and it spent 6 weeks at #1.

It looks like i was right on when i predicted a peak at #3 for CHUD.
Britney's song is sky rocketing, but that usually isn't good news when a song does this because it will peak prematurely (Pop, Die Another Day, American Life, A Moment Like This)

I'm so happy! Michelle Branch will likely enter the top 40!
Poor Evanescance... there goes my prediction of a peak of #23 for "Going under." Atleast it made top 50.
I hope Jewel and Josh Kelley can maybe reach the top 40. Jewel's lyrics in "Stand" are complete brilliance, and "Amazing" is just a really good song.
Poor Christina, looks like Thee Doors Down will bump her down to #3 so she will never get to peak at #2.
I can't wait until "Shake Ya Tailfeather" gets out of the #1 spot! I hope Three Doors Down gets it, which they most likely will. It will be cool because all their top ten hits will be #1 hits as well.
I was hoping Hilary could make the Top 20 this week, maybe next week. Man, "Stacy's Mom" is just flying up the charts.
I hate to see "Low" not doing so well, but I can see her holding on to the top 20 for quite a while and having a long fall.
