Someone's going to have to take that #2 peak sooner or later. Let's hope it doesn't happen until after January 1, 2004!

It's weird that nothing peaked at #2 yet this year...
Although there were a lot of #11 peaks this year, I think there was only one in 2002.

Let's hope it doesn't happen until after January 1, 2004! For the R&R year, Jenny From The Block will be the only #2 peaking song. But you are right, for the salendar year, we have yet to have a song peak at #2.

Good news! Mandy Moore has regained her bullet and is now ahead of Bow Wow, who has lost his bullet! So maybe she'll make top 40 after all :)

Wow! :) Let's see if 3DD can hold on till Sunday. They and Beyonce are really close in spins, though. I guess still no #2 peaks this year, lol. Me Against The Music has gained +2167 spins so far. I won't even go there..

Pink may be in "Trouble", but Michelle Branch is really gasping for air. Her gains are also in the 300's. This is going to struggle to get to the Top 10.

Wow for 3 Doors Down. I was looking at Mediabase yesterday and they were #2 with a nice gain but Beyounce was #1 with a larger gain so for them to have taken over is quite unexpected! Beyounce was also 5-1 this time yesterday and 3 Doors Down was 4-2. I'd rather them be #1 also. It marks an oddity on the pop chart.

I wouldn't be concerned about Michelle Branch just yet. Most of her other singles have been pretty slow builders. "All You Wanted", for example, was gaining in the 100s for a week or two but went on to become her biggest hit to date. I think "Breathe" will easily go top 10 but it'll take several more weeks.

Are we even discussing the 10/10 chart anymore?

I think there's a difference between 'Breathe' and Michelle's other singles. It's the first single to really be marketed to impact, if you know what I mean. It's kinda hard to explain but I think that Michelle has crossed the line and is now a money-making artist for Maverick.... I won't go on because I can't explain it but I think we should worry for 'Breathe' and that this isn't like her last singles.

Errr... if she wasn't making any money for them before she would've been dropped by the label.

Errr... if she wasn't making any money for them before she would've been dropped by the label. I guess what I meant before was that she was more of an "artist" before she was a source of monetary income. Now they are releasing singles to get hits, or so it seems.

I want to know why so many people thought Breathe was the best most radio friendly song she had-so far I think this is quite possibly her worst song yet-its not as catchy as her catchier songs, it just isnt as impressive. Definitely her worst single to date though I am surprised its struggling this much-I predicted a 8-10 peak (around there) and I do not even think this willmake top 20.

I guess this thread can be locked now. (Off-topic) But I'd be annoyed if moderators became over-zealous in locking topics that don't necessarily need to be locked (as well as at the people who suggest it )

I'm locking this. The 10/17 Pop chart thread has already been made, and I'm sure it won't be long until someone starts the 10/24 topic.
