Wow! I have never ever seen a tumble this huge for a song supposedly moving up then fallling out the very next week since 1986 when The Bangles fell out of the number 29 position when they moved up with "If She Knew What She Wants". I am kinda glad because "Baby I Love U" was terrible to me. The drop was from number 26 to number 45 by the way, losing over 1000 spins in one week!

I don't think it's the first time she's plummeted by such a huge amount.
I think both "Jenny From The Block" and "All I Have" suffered the same fate, once they started falling -- dropping from like 8 down to 15 (something along those lines).

Joshjoel was referring only to songs that moved up the chart one week, and lost 1000 spins the following week. (It's rather old news. :'( We've talked about it in the Pop Chart topic.)

"If She Knew What She Wants" was among my favorite songs of the 1980s. BTW, ISKWSW fell out from 29 after moving up on Billboard. The last song I remember falling out of the Top 40 the week after moving up (before J-Lo) was "I Wanna Hear It From Your Lips" by Eric Carmen. Its chart run was 40-37-34-30-off. Of course, I'm talking songs that fall off from lofty positions. The many songs that fell out after moving up to, say, 39 or 38 don't count.

On that Bangles song, yes I was referring to the BB chart, however it was also AT40 just as well just like the present yet they are using another chart obviously. Knowing now that you all have already discussed a topic simular to this, I believe this is first big dip I have seen in years, unless I was not paying attention.

I am really disappointed that Baby I Love U! fell off like it did. This song was MUCH better than "I'm Glad" and was really different for J. Lo. I really liked it!

I never liked this single anyway. What was she thinking releasing it?

I never liked this single anyway. What was she thinking releasing it? Neither did I, actually, and I'm a big fan. Maybe she wanted to release it as a message for her love for you-know-who. Sorta like the same reason why people send Long Distance Dedications to AT20/AT40. I had wanted "The One" to be released.

I could tell you how much this news saddens me, except for one thing... ...I'd be lying! Sure, this song was marginally better than her usual stuff, including that awful duet with LL Cool J. However, with all the boring 'Benifer' stories in the entertainment press, even J Lo diehards are getting burned out on her music. 'Tis a shame, eh? ;)

your right that should have been the singles in order of release had she done that and not had gigli then her album would probably still be in the top 20 and selling like hot cakes over christmas.

The Term "J.lo takes a huge dip" has been one of the most used phrases in 2003 now hasn't it?

The Term "J.lo takes a huge dip" has been one of the most used phrases in 2003 now hasn't it? I'd say it's been widely used in a variety of situations with a large variety of people in the last few years, if you catch my drift.
