The first single off their greatest hits cd, which is a cover. This song sounds awesome. The verses are pretty damn good. But how well will this do? In case you're interested, you can find the song at www.mp3sfinder.com, under the singles tab Prediction: #8 How high did "Running" reach? #20?

Part of me thinks this will do well because it's No Doubt and part of me says that it's way too 80's for pop radio.
I'll predict #11.

With Gwen's success it will definitely reach the Top 10!

Thanks for the link. I've only heard the radio rip before this. It's very good.
With the proper promotion, this could go top 10.

I think it'll peak just below the top 10. I'll say #13.

Is there a tracklisting for the CD so far? How many new songs will be on it?
I like it and think it can go Top 10! Maybe #5? It'll also have a relatively fast rising song too. 50-40-34-24-17-11-7-etc?

Even if it doesn't do well, it doesn't really matter. I like the song and hope it does well. It got top 5 written all over it!

I've only heard the song once, I think I need to listen to it one more time to decide if I like it or not.
I wonder what songs from "The Return of Saturn" they'll put on the greatest hits, if any.

All of their hits but there's only one song from their 1992 'No Doubt' album and nothing from the underrated but deserving 'Beacon Street Collection'. Unless there's nothing else added besides the new track, I may make my own version, and include different versions of songs I can get access to, like the acoustic 'Underneath It All', for example.

I like this song more and more with each listen. does anyone think it would be good if No Doubt went in this direction for their next album instead of doing pop? I want them to go back to their roots but go retro at the same time

I want them to go back to their roots but go retro at the same time Wow! I guess I'm not the only one who feels this way. I really like this new direction that they're heading towards. I liked their stuff from "Tragic Kingdom", but honestly, I can't picture them producing 'ska' anymore. Anyway, I think it's great how they're not afraid to experiment.

I agree, Open The Gate and or Stricken should've been included from The Beacon Street Collection. And yea, it would've been a little more interesting to add different versions - like the acoustic version of Underneath It All, and the Physco-Ex Mix of Ex-Girlfriend, both of which I think are superior to the originals. I also think Different People should've been on there, since it was a single in Europe, and is one of their signature songs. Then again, it's a singles collection, not a greatest hits.

I finally heard this song, and I like it a lot. It's different from what's out there right now, but I don't think that it's too different to be a big hit. I'll predict #4.

Yup! It's official... not 100% but I'ma make my own version of the CD!
Here are the songs in chronilogical order. -Let's Get Back -Paulina -Trapped In A Box -By The Way -Greener Pastures -Just A Girl -Spiderwebs -Don't Speak -Excuse Me Mr. -Sunday Morning -The Climb -New -Simple Kind Of Life -Ex-Girlfriend -Bathwater -Hey Baby -Don't Let Me Down -Hella Good -Underneath It All -Running -It's My Life
For some of the tracks (probably the 'Rocksteady' ones), I'll try to find remixes of them to add some variety. And the above list is what I'll choose from. A few will be taken out for lack of space.

In case you're interested, you can find the song at www.mp3sfinder.com, under the singles tab Ahh I should've clicked on this topic sooner. I didn't know mp3sfinder hosted it. As luck would have it, I just heard the song for the first time 5 minutes ago. I think you hit the nail on the head on this one. And M said it's a cover? Cover of whom/what? I like the music and Gwen's vocals, but overall, the song is just a tad bit boring. My prediction: #8

It's a cover of "It's My Life" [obviously] by Talk Talk.

Why obviously? I would have had no idea it was a cover, until somebody told me. Because the first post in this thread said it was a cover. And by definition a cover of a song... is the same song, except sung by a different artist. So chances are the title is the same.

I've heard this song once, but there was nothing very memorable about it to me though. Maybe I'll have to hear it again, people seem to just love it! But for some reason, I don't think the radio will be too accepting. I think it could pull a "Damaged." But you never know, I would have expected them to succeed with "Hey Baby."

I think it will reach top ten, even though this is only just another sign that I am getting old. By the way, is it just me or is pop music nowadays starting to get some semblance of an eighties-feel to it?
