I'd be shocked if this song peaked even one spot below number one. Every year a song lodges at number one and stays there for the entire Christmas season, and this year I think it will be "Hey Ya."
The song is quite simply the most innovative thing I've ever heard. It's made for pop radio too.

#4 I've only been right one time in my 2 1/2 years at R&R/Pulse. I correctly predicted #4 for Nivea "Don't Mess With My Man."

That would be shocking. That would be like the best #1 on the pop chart of the decade, so far, and if things actually went that way.

#6... I think it'll go top 10 fairly easily, but stall just below the top 5.

This song will be for them what "Work It" was for Missy Elliott.

"Pop radio" and "innovative" just don't mix.
#13.

With a lot of Hot AC songs going up the charts, Rhythmic songs have all of a sudden, out of the blue, taken a back seat at Pop radio. However, I think this is mainly because there are slim pickings for Rhythmic songs right now (how else could the general trend change THAT quickly?) "Hey Ya" has the distinctiom of being basically the only really strong Rhythmic song in the Top 30 that still has its bullet (not counting "Baby Boy")... this will help it become the "token" Rhythmic song of around December.
I predict #3

I'll take the average of the peaks for Work It and Right Thurr and say #4.

I'll take the average of the peaks for Work It and Right Thurr and say #4. LOL, why would you use those two tracks to determine a peak? "Hey Ya" doesn't really sound like either one of them.

LOL, why would you use those two tracks to determine a peak? "Hey Ya" doesn't really sound like either one of them. The only thing that makes me like Hey Ya is the beat, which is probably the only reason why Pop is playing this song. It's catchy. Just like Right Thurr and Work It. They don't sound alike obviously.

"Hey Ya" is way more better than "Work It" (which is basically the same thing on loop for the whole duration of the song" and "Right Thurr" (which is catchy but not nearly as much as "Hey Ya".) Last night, all 3 parties I was at played "Hey Ya" and everyone was going crazy. I can't remember the last time people reacted to a song that much. Shit, one of the parties even had to play it 3 times in a row because that's how into it people were getting.

lol at all 3 parties I was at last night...you must be a party animal
I don't know if it's 'better' than Work It, but it's definitely better than Right Thurr.
In terms of creative and innovation, I think it's probably on a par with Work It, if not slightly more so.

This is probably the second best hip-hop song I have heard all year (second to "Where Is The Love?") and definitely innovative and joyous to listen to. The video too only enhances the songs quality.
As it is right now, no singles ae directly competing alongside "Hey Ya", so in my mind, they may be clear for a chart-topping smash.
My Prediction: #1
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

As much as I love this song, it's not THAT great. I like it and it deserves a peak of about #7-#3. Everyone one is overrating this song way too much.

I'm really starting to like this song. I'll predict a peak of #12, a little higher than "Ms. Jackson".
