Bcabc, they were forced to put Alex Band on it because Nickelback's label did not want the Chad Kroeger WDY&I to take away from Nickelback's new song, "Someday". The decision was made back in July or so, well before "Someday" surfaced, and well before WDY&I started doing anything. I guess maybe they were afraid that people would think WDY&I was Nickelback's new single, and not give due attention to the real new single, Someday. Or maybe they envisioned WDY&I a bigger hit than "Someday", and didn't want to be embarassed. I do think that had they decided to release the single with Chad Kroeger, it wouldn't affect Nickelback's new album, but rather build a launching pad for them just as "Smooth" did for matchbox twenty. Nickelback obviously has a lot of pressure upon them right now, trying to follow-up a quintuple-platinum "Silver Side Up", and it'll most likely take more than "Someday" to make this album work well in sales. "Why Don't You & I?" may have helped them more than hurt them. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

"America" made the Alternative Top 100. "Feels Like Fire" got a little airplay also.

"America" made the Alternative Top 100. "Feels Like Fire" got a little airplay also. "Feels Like Fire" did get some Triple A airplay, despite not making the Top 20 because it was never officially released as a single. Even "Adouma" got airplay on Triple A and actually made an appearance under New & Active. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Can you please shrink that image? My sincerest apologies. I am rather new to the knowledge of URLs and signatures, if anyone else is bothered by the volume of the signature, if someone can offer me some help with re-sizing images I would deeply appreciate it! :) Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Noah, I agree with you
I think they should have kept Chad on it, and not given exposure to a 'rival' band in The Calling, even though it may not really mean anything in terms of rivalry, but I think it still wouldn't really have interfered with "Someday".

It's so funny that in September 2002, everyone was saying "The Game Of Love" was the best song to be released in years, and now people are saying it was not a good song. Yeah, LOL. It got to #1 on the R&R 100 in its 4th weeks and stayed there for 12 weeks, for goodness sakes!

Yeah, LOL. It got to #1 on the R&R 100 in its 4th weeks and stayed there for 12 weeks, for goodness sakes! I liked it well enough, but I felt it was quite overrated, I didn't think it was quite as great as everyone initially said it was. I like "Why Don't You & I" better, it had more longevity on my chart.

I forget how long 'The Game Of Love' lasted on my chart but I think 'Why Don't You And I' may have outpeaked it. However, I like TGOL more now. It came out around the same time as the new Chantal, MB20 and Christina singles around this time last year. Good times!

WYWG seems like it will be their only lasting hit....

It took me a while to really appreciate "Why Don't You and I," I really like it now. It's a really catchy tune. I find it to be one of those songs that you are so compelled to sing along to. :)
I'm glad to see it doing well.

I agree! And it's good because my singing voice most closely matches the one's of both Chad Kroeger and Alex Band.

Bengino, I agree with you, but giving publicity to another band, in the same genre, no matter how popular the band, can't be a GOOD thing, can it?
