Game Of Love" "The Game Of Love" peaked at Number 5 according to the archive site. "Why Don't You & I" could reach Number 3 (or better if it lasts longer than one of the Top 2). If "Nothing At All" went for adds, he'll have two Top 5s with a did not chart in between.

I think it will... with a peak of either #3 or #4.

I agree with either #3 or #4, depepnding on how fast "Stacy's Mom" climbs.

I hope it outpeaks "The Game Of Love." I liked "TGOL" at the time, but I have gotten so sick of it since... it's plain annoying to me.
"WDY&I" on the other hand I've probably already heard more than "TGOL," and I still like it more on every listen. I was hoping "WDY&I" was the token Hot AC #1, but that already went to the far less exciting "HWY"

If "Nothing At All" went for adds, he'll have two Top 5s with a did not chart in between. "Nothing At All" was already released as a single, and "Why Don't You & I?" is the third single to be released from "Shaman". "Nothing At All" flopped miserably and is a big reason why "Shaman" fell off the Billboard 200 and is struggling to recover with the new hit. I suggest that "Feels Like Fire" be released as a fourth single from "Shaman" due to the great success of "Why Don't You & I?". It won't chart as high as the first two hits from this album on CHR/Pop, but it is destined to perform quite well on Hot AC and AC radio and should go up to about the Top 30 on CHR/Pop. As for outpeaking "Game Of Love", I do think it will. Though Maroon 5's "Harder To Breathe" is reluctant in letting Santana pass them by on the chart, a couple singles falls will put the single in at least #4. Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Who was in "Nothing at All"? Musiq, I think, (and Santana ) WDY&I is far superior to TGOL, so this is deserving. This topic is a little too late. It looks obvious WDY&I will outpeak TGOL.

I really don't know which one is better. I think the both are deserving of #1 though!

Im happy about this. Neither of the songs are that good, but WDYAI is MUCH better than TGOL.

Although I haven't heard 'The Game Of Love' in months, I appreciate it much more now than I did then. I miss it. I gotta find the mp3 among my jumble of songs and put it into regular rotation again.

I really liked The Game of Love alot, at around this time last year.
I haven't heard Why Don't You & I in months, since z103.5 played it alot, the Chad Kroeger version, months back, before it was even a single.
I haven't heard the version with Alex Band, I'm assuming it's the exact same song, just with a different voice on the verses? Does he sing the same lyrics as Chad's version?
Yea, Musiq was on Nothing at All, who is on Feels Like Fire?
I always thought it was weird that Santana waited several months to release a new single, following Nothing at All. I thought he had put Shaman to bed after only two singles.
Didn't he do that with Supernatural, only two singles? I could be wrong, but was it just Smooth and Maria, Maria? I think there is a 3rd single in there, but I'm forgetting it.

The only difference is the vocalist. Dido He released the song with Everlast, and I think a few others to various formats.

Ok thanks
Maybe releasing the song with Dido could work, cuz she has a new album out too, and could use extra promo

The song "Put Your Light On" featuring Everlast was released to rock formats. This was a great track which I think should have gone to pop. Regarding the current Santana track, yeah, "Why Don't You And I" is much better than "The Game Of Love" IMO. I really got a little tired of Michelle Branch's vocals on that song after a while, but Alex Band (and Chad Kroeger) both sound incredible. It should peak higher than TGOL; my predicion #3.

It's so funny that in September 2002, everyone was saying "The Game Of Love" was the best song to be released in years, and now people are saying it was not a good song.

I did not say it wasn't a good song. I definitely like it better than, say, "Everywhere" or "All You Wanted". I just prefer "Why Don't You And I" to TGOL. Considering the peak positions of the songs, even though I think WDYAI will reach #3 on R&R, I don't think it will beat TGOL's #5 peak on the Hot 100.

I am also surprised that this song is doing as well as it is, #8 on the Hot 100? I didn't expect Top 10 at all.
I don't think it will reach or surpass TGOL's peak of #5, though.
TGOL was #1 on Adult Contemporary for like 21 weeks in a row, wasn't it? lol

TGOL was at #1 on the AT20 for 10 weeks, I think. #1 on R&R's AC chart for... 2 weeks? I was one of the people who did NOT say in September 2002 that TGOL was the best song released in years. (I liked the video tho.)

I was referring to Billboard's AC chart when I said it was #1 for something like 21 weeks.
I believe it was an insanely long amount of time like that, and it knocked out Avril's "Complicated" which was #1 for just as long, I believe.

I like Alex Band's version of "Why Don't You & I" better than Chad Kroeger's and I like "Why Don't You & I" better than "The Game of Love." I wonder why a lot of people don't like Alex Band's version. I'm confused as to why they have two versions of the song too.
Thanks, Ben

Who else thinks that "Feels Like Fire" should be released as a fourth single if there is one, considering "Why Don't You & I?" is a huge hit as it is.
Dido's song with Santana, in my mind, is the only song from "Shaman" that is worthy of being a single that hasn't already. Macy Gray's song would most certainly flop as her career has crashed and burned since scoring her huge hit "I Try", P.O.D's "America" just simply wouldn't take off anywhere because it's too Alternative for CHR/Pop and Alternative doesn't embrace Santana anymore, and though "You Are My Kind" with Seal is probably my favorite from the album, it's much too light for CHR/Pop and Hot AC, though it could hit huge on AC.
Sincerely, Noah Eaton

Bcabc, they were forced to put Alex Band on it because Nickelback's label did not want the Chad Kroeger WDY&I to take away from Nickelback's new song, "Someday".
The decision was made back in July or so, well before "Someday" surfaced, and well before WDY&I started doing anything.
I guess maybe they were afraid that people would think WDY&I was Nickelback's new single, and not give due attention to the real new single, Someday. Or maybe they envisioned WDY&I a bigger hit than "Someday", and didn't want to be embarassed.
