"The Trouble With Love Is" is from Kelly Clarkson's album and it will also be featured in the new Hugh Grant movie "Love Actually" and it's on the soundtrack. The website for the movie says it will be the first radio single off the soundtrack. I'm wondering if this will go to Pop or is it strictly AC or Hot AC material? Any predictions if it goes to Pop?

I LOVE this song! I'm very happy to hear that it's getting released, even though it won't do anything besides at AC.

Why are they doing this with the "Love, Actually" soundtrack. It's a British movie -- keep the soundtrack BRITISH. Don't release two seperate soundtracks for its release oversea. I hope they don't change the songs in the movie in Britain and America.
Maybe the only change will be Britain having the Girls Aloud "Jump" while we get Brandy/Monica/Kelly though.

This is one of my favorite songs from Thankful. It sounds like something Mariah would do on her first album. AWESOME!!!
Why are they making 2 CD's anyway? I know on the Anastacia soundtrack, in France, they had a different version of "At the Beginning" with Anggun singing Donna Lewis' part (forgot who did Richard Marx's).

HUH?! Brandy & Monica did another duet together, and this time included Kelly Clarkson? Am I missing something?

HUH?! Brandy & Monica did another duet together, and this time included Kelly Clarkson? Am I missing something? I think that was an early version of the soundtrack and the song never happened, as far as I know. According to a Billboard article from this week, it is the Pointer Sisters' version of the song. Here is the new tracklist: Here is the "Love Actually" track list: "The Trouble With Love Is," Kelly Clarkson "Jump (For My Love)," the Pointer Sisters "Here With Me," Dido "Like I Love You," Justin Timberlake "Turn Me On," Norah Jones "Take Me As I Am," Wyclef Jean "Sweetest Goodbye/Saturday Morning," Maroon5 "Songbird," Eva Cassidy "Wherever You Will Go," the Calling "Both Sides Now," Joni Mitchell "All You Need Is Love," Lynden David Hall "God Only Knows," the Beach Boys "I'll See It Through," Texas "Too Lost in You," Sugababes "White Christmas," Otis Redding "Christmas Is All Around," Billy Mac "All I Want for Christmas Is You," Olivia Olson www.billboard.com/bb/daily/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=2008082

The song is boring and an awful single choice.

I haven't heard it, but I'll go ahead and predict #33 for the song on the Pop chart anyway.

Kelly should release this to Adult Contemporary radio only and call it just a single from "Love, Actually" and not even promote it as a single from "Thankful". That way she won't seem so oversaturated. Then she should release "You Thought Wrong" to CHR/Pop as the official third/fourth single from "Thankful". After that, the final single should be "Just Missed The Train" which can go to AC, Hot AC, and CHR/Pop.

I'm almost 100% certain "You Thought Wrong" will be the next single after "The Trouble With Love Is." I thought for sure "Low" would do something on Hot AC. Oh well.

Since it's being promoted with the movie, I wouldn't be surprised if this makes top 10. However, if it's viewed as a third Thankful single, it would likely flop.

I like "Just Missed the Train" much much more. I really, really hope that gets released as a single. I would be very happy then. Plus it's a super radio-friendly type ballad.

Where did 'Low' peak on the hot 100.
I think it's terrible Girls Alouds 'Jump' isnt on the US version they are really angry.
I think Kelly should release this it's perfect for this time of year and then release 'You Thought Wrong' next year.

This is a bad choice. I am not sure what they are thinking with this one.

Kelly's album fell out of the top 100 on Billboard this week. I seriously doubt at this time that any song released will be a huge hit. A moderate hit is definitely a possibility.
Also, does anyone know what her soundscan numbers are? I would guess around 1.6-1.8 million. To me, those are very good numbers but I wonder if the record company is pleased. I would think that the promo budget was pretty substantial.

I would think that the promo budget was pretty substantial. A little over 1.6 million in the US and 4 million worldwide. I don't know how pleased the record company is, but I would think they are pleased enough since they made this song the title track of the new Hugh Grant movie. It's also on the soundtrack. The video debuts next week and it was directed by the guy who did the two Outkast videos "Hey Ya" and "The Way You Move." I'm not sure this song will do anything on Pop but considering it's in "Love Actually" and will no doubt get sent to AC, I can see they are probably marketing her to a very specific deomgraphic at this point. In related idol news, Justin Guarini and Tamyra Gray were dropped by RCA/J.

I gotta say that this track is good! This track is much better than "Miss Independent" and "Low"... so Bryan Barber directed the video for this track? Hmm... that's interesting... He's usually known for directing R&B and Hip-Hop videos...

i like the song it very nice and could be a big hit .though top 40 radio does not seem to like ballads very much these days.i was hoping for "you thought you were wrong " with tamyra gray as the next single. however since she was dropped from j records which is part of rca records which kelly clarkson is on .they might decide against releasing it as a single . releasing would have been a good way to permote tamyra gray to radio for the label if she was still with the label.

Not that it means anything certain, but it's a good thing anyway if it happens..... the sticker on her album which hasn't been out here for long says that it feautes "Miss Independent", "Low", and "Just Missed The Train". Now these things change all the time but at least it's a positive sign that maybe it'll be a single soon, maybe the 3rd in Australia at least!?

I think it could do okay on the charts. So I'm gonna predict #25. It is one of the weakest songs on the album.

I have changed my opinion on this song. I think it could be a sleeper. I have been listening to "Thankful" and I am really starting to like it. It's the type of song that grows on people.
