On the panel from Florida: #12 Miami #21 Tampa #38 Orlando #47 West Palm #50 Jacsonville #67 Ft. Myers #86 Gainesville #94 Daytona Beach #99 Melbourne I didn't know if I counted wrong because that makes more than nine because Jacksonville has two stations, and WJLQ Pensacola I expect will be on the panel also. I look at WJLQ isn't listed. Florida has ten. The most populated state has only four (in 15 markets monitored by Mediabase). To compare, New York has 15 markets total and has 15 CHR-Pop stations, and CHR-Pop appears in every market's ratings. In the biggest 15 markets in California, CHR-Pop doesn't appear in at least seven of them. We talk about having no Number 2s. What year had the least Number 2s?

Here's something interesting I noticed: "Request Line"'s top 40 run: 40-37-34-34-off "Shut Up"'s top 40 run (so far): 40-37-34-34 That doesn't bode well for the future of "Shut Up". Good! "Shut Up" is easily one of the worst songs of 2003! First of all, the music sucks, plus people saying "Shut up" is one of my pet peeves. There are many other ways to get people to stop talking, making noise, etc. ("Be quiet", "Shhh!", "Stop it.", "Knock it off", "Cool it" - you can stop me anytime you want, BTW) But that's just me. Anyway, hopefully, the song will continue to follow the trend of "Request Line". Heaven forbid, it should pick up steam and be as big as "Where Is The Love". If that happens, I'll boycott Top 40 music forever!

ARGH!! Why did I know someone was going to do that? ;)
Zip the lip!
Oh, BTW, seeing that "Baby Boy" was number one on the final update, the anti-#2-peak streak goes on and, based on the numbers, it looks like it could be that way through November. "Stacy's Mom" seems to be slowing down and some people are saying Trapt will probably be number one. This is getting interesting!

I took another look at the chart and:
Staind has finally cracked 2000 spins.
Liz Phair's #19 is the weakest #19 I've ever seen. The song had less than 2800 spins.
Also just realized that John Mayer vacuumed his way up to #21. Ah well, the good news is that it's no Top 20 for him!

What happened, did a whole bunch of songs recently go recurrent, or are there just a lot of fast droppers around the mid-section of the chart?

All the songs 20-25 were really close together. Mrax went recurrent while the others jumped up because theyb were only about five spins away from a song without a bullet.

I noticed from looking at the "Sans Recurrent" thread that poor Mandy Moore looks like she'll have another song literally hit a brick wall once it enters the top 40. :(

Mandy looks like she'll get her bullet back again. She's at -5.
3DD is losing spins :'( (down to +82) - the total used to be above 8400, now its below. Bulletless by tomorrow or Wednesday most likely.......... :'(
But at least it had a good 2 week stay at #1......and the non #2 streak shall continue. No #2 special for Rick Dees!

:ahem: Whoever predicted that 3 Doors Down was going to reach 9500 spins needs to realize that no song is going to break "Beautiful"'s record this year. They aren't even CLOSE to reaching 9000 spins and they are ready to lose their bullet.

No #2 special for Rick Dees! All of Rick Dees' specials are "number two" (yes, it's a poop joke... deal with it). :)

If you just breathe, everything will be okay you'll see. I always knew radio programmers like overplaying bland pop ballads more than universal songs. Well, if your purpose for posting is to post annoying crap, then I really think you shouldn't post anymore. So just shut up.

I think Beyonce can be at #1 for 3 or 4 weeks.

You know, it's really NOT necessary to reply to every post of his and to constantly tell people to ban radiorules. He didn't do anything do deserve banning and it's your fault that you let him annoy you. I do believe that half of the time, you bring it on yourself (except this topic, which he brought it on...). It's not THAT hard to ignore him most of the time.

It's not THAT hard to ignore him most of the time. Well even if I ignore him, other people won't. You should know - after all that's exactly what happened at the R&R boards. You couldn't ignore him yourself. And as long as people are reading what he has to say, he will continue posting his crap. I can definitely start ignoring him at any time but that's not going to stop him.

J, I agree that ignoring this guy is the best option, and there's no point stirring things up furthur when he makes some annoying comment. And radiorules---what's with you, man? I mean, some of your posts definitely don't justify banning, but they can really piss people off. You've never said anything to irritate me personally, so I'm not going to go on about this. But generally, just try to chill.
On another note, what do you people think will be the next #1 after Beyonce? That Trapt tune has been around for ages, and now it's finally making a mark on pop. I'm thinking it's a good contender for the next #1; Fountains of Wayne and OutKast are also Top 5 contenders.

I personally think Trapt will be the next #1. It looks like they'll get there for a week or 2 before Outkast.

There's an error on the chart as listed on R&R.
"F**k It" is listed in the greatest gainers with +694. I'm fairly sure its gains weren't that much.

Yeah, because it was listed with 0 "last week" spins when the subtitle was added. That's too bad. R&R used to have this great free proofreading service. I wonder what happened to them ;)
