I am a bit surprised this is doing quite a bit better here in Canada then in the US.
Although the pop radio sound is not nearly as dominated by R&B/HipHop as it is in the USA.

I really like "Suga Suga"...z103 has been playing that for a while now.
For those who know, does Toronto's z103.5 qualify as CHR/Pop? If not, does Toronto HAVE a CHR/Pop radio station?
and is this strictly a CHR/Pop chart, or is it accumulative of all formats in Canada?
Cuz Jacynthe at #7? lol...that song is pretty catchy, though. But z103 doesn't play it too much. I know they aren't the be all and end all of Canadian radio, but they are Toronto's closest thing to a Pop station, and with Toronto being the largest audience/city and all...
Look at Ludacris shoot up the chart...and the Black Eyed Peas PLUMMET 18 slots, lmao...
Nice to see No Doubt, Lil' Jon and Michelle Branch make debuts, but Stacie dropped 2 spots :(

This is the CHR/Pop chart. Most of the reporters are true CHR/Poppers, but 3 are Urbans and 1 is CHR/Rhythmic. There are also a couple of HotAC's on the panel as well.
Z103.5 is one of the BDS CHR reporters. Looking at their Top 40, I would classify it as a Dance leaning CHR/Pop. Whenever I tune in though, it seems to be all Dance. Flow 93.5 Toronto is also a reporter.

Too bad Great Big Sea couldn't have released a new song instead of rereleasing an old track. At least it's one of the better songs they have.

So both Flow 93.5 and z103.5 playlists contribute to this chart?
Isn't that kinda biased though, since both are not true Pop formats? What do they classify z103 as, Pop? Or it doesn't say? What about Flow, is that Urban or Rhythmic?
Are those the only two Toronto stations that report to that chart?
Thanks

I'm liking this chart, I'm glad Fefe Dobson is finding success with "Take Me Away" from her home country. Didn't she release "Bye, Bye Boyfriend" there first though?

Well z103.5 is definitely pop. A Rhythmic station wouldn't play as much Pop/Rock songs as they would.I'm liking this chart, I'm glad Fefe Dobson is finding success with "Take Me Away" from her home country. Didn't she release "Bye, Bye Boyfriend" there first though? If I'm not mistaken, those two songs were actually released at the same time, but to different formats.

12 08 BRITNEY SPEARS/MADONNA -- Me Against The Music I am a bit surprised this is doing quite a bit better here in Canada then in the US. Although the pop radio sound is not nearly as dominated by R&B/HipHop as it is in the USA. I agree. I dont know if Christina is too much competition in the US as if Canadians like Britney better. Its odd.

Canadians generally like Britney better, I'd say. We were first in North America to catch on to the boy band phase, I think. Christina did have sizable hits from 'Stripped' but for some reason, it's Britney that is well liked at radio. J-Lo and Madonna are well liked here too, I think.

Much kept playing the video for Bye Bye Boyfriend. ALOT. It's like they never even heard of Take me Away.
I never heard either of them on the radio, but MuchMusic played Bye Bye Boyfriend alot, as if it were the first single. And they didnt mention anything about Take me Away.
I think MuchOnDemand premiered the video for Take me Away a few weeks ago, and they said "Here is the new one from Fefe Dobson".
I definitely like Take me Away better.

You will have to ask Paul Tuch from BDS Canada why certain stations report and not others. He probably will not respond or say something to the effect that Urban is close to CHR/Pop.
Z103.5 and Flow 93.5 are the only Toronto stations that report to the CHR chart. Before the introdution of the HotAC chart, MIX 99.9 was a CHR reporter.
Bye Bye Boyfreind was the first Canadian single, but since Canadian radio is extremely influenced by American charts, a lot of stations added Take Me Away.

^ For the most part, but that stubborn MD at Z103.5 ("The Hammer") doesn't seem to think so. I e-mailed him asking why they haven't added Stacie Orrico "More to Life" yet, and his response was "We didn't feel the Stacey song would perform, so we didn't add it", and they added Christina's TVW into "light" rotation. z103 kinda pisses me off, because on one hand, they have their own agenda sorta thing, which is cool, cuz they don't follow all the trends, but at the same time it is annoying too. But I'm forced to listen to them because there really isn't a better alternative. "Get Low" was a Top 10 song on Pop radio in the States, and z103 played it maybe 1 or 2 times. But maybe that means the audience wasn't feeling it, so no demand means no play, but then again, I dont know if z103 is payola or if they actually listen to the listeners requests. It's weird because one minute, they are a Pop station who 'refuses' to play Get Low and Damn! by the YoungBloodZ, yet they don't play Stacie Orrico, or even So Yesterday. And then at times they do the really urban-leaning thing like adding all these reggae songs Pop would never touch, yet they don't add those big hits like Get Low or Damn!, just to name a few. It's this love/hate relationship I have with that station. And their morning show is ok, but boy sometimes Dave and Scott Fox are INCREDIBLY annoying. Their voices sometimes make me want to puke, especially 1st thing in the morning. and sometimes their sense of humour isn't that great, like they say stupid things and crack up to them, but you don't see me laughing. z103 has started to play "Hey Ya!", moreso than The Way You Move (another hint towards being a more Pop station.. see these mixed signals they give!) but I dont see Hey ya! on that CHR chart... It's probably reflecting the same thing that happened on the Hot 100. The Way You Move debuted first, and proceeded to shoot up the chart, then Hey Ya debuted huge and has now almost caught up to it, but I dont think The Way You Move will be as big on this chart than it is on the Hot 100. Hey Ya will pass it easily and quickly. Also, z103 has started to play Fefe Dobson's "Take me Away" quite a bit...Im noticing it on there more often, it was just on about an hour ago

Amanda Marshall has a Best Of CD coming out this month. I wonder what the tracklisting is?

I suppose if it was, 70% of her first album would be on there. I'd rather that than 'Sitten On Top Of The World' though. They're missing a single from 'Tuesday's Child' too.

Ah yes! That was a good song. I didn't much like the singles from the third album much.
I think I'll make my own Amanda Marshall greatest hits CD. LOL. Unless this official one has all of her singles on it... they can take away 'Marry Me' as far as I'm concerned.
