Forgive me, but where does it mention anything remotely close to a "remake" of Lady Marmalade?
They are just talking about recording an album, and naming people who might help out with it.

Yeah, this has nothing to do with "Lady Marmalade" other than Christina Aguilera and Pink being mentioned at the beginning of the article.

I just think it could be a similar novelty collaboartion song. I'd expect there to be a strong positive correlation on personal charts (and annoying lists for people who hate that type of music) between the performances of "Lady Marmalade" and Pussycat Dolls.
