Well it looks like R&B sensation Kelis is off to a good start on the pop charts. "Milkshake," is very catchy, quite a perfect fit on a pop, and it looks like it will turn out to be the biggest song of her career. My local pop station Z100 has already added and playing the track with decent rotation. KIIS Los Angeles has been playing it some as well. So she has pull from the top radio markets. I'm really hoping that it does well.
I predict a peak of #5!

It's already top-15 on Z-100. It's definitely her best song commercially speaking. I don't know about top-5 but I can see top-10.

Considering how big it is on Z100, I'm going to say #3.

Considering how big it is on Z100, I'm going to say #3. Just because it is big in the biggest city in the US, doesnt necessarily mean it will do big everywhere. However, im not say it wont...but im not saying it will. I'll predict a bit later after it gains a few more spins.

But this song is doing really well before going for adds, so it should do well, and it's already Top 10 on CHR/Rhythmic!
I predict #4.
I love how Kelis explained what "Milkshake" means:
"'Milkshake' is just that thing that makes a woman stand out from everyone else. It's a thing that makes you sensual and warm and maternal. It could be about breasts but I don't have huge t*** so you gotta work with what you got."

Wow, I can't believe how high everyone is predicting this song will go! But I am a fan of this song, so I hope it'll do well. I don't think it will do that well though... I'll predict #24.

'Good Stuff' from her first album was way more mainstream, but I'm glad something a little edgier is what's getting her the attention.

This song is blowing up on urban, rhythmic...which means it has a good chance at going pop 10. Its just pop-friendly enough to be a big hit, I predict #6.
I hope this makes Kelis a household name, she is great.

I can't believe it's only blowing up now. It made my chart in September, I think, and fell off after a few weeks even though I liked it, I just never listened to it. Wasn't this song released LONG ago to Urban formats?
I'll say a peak of number........ 25! LOL

I love this song cuz its Kelis/Neptunes. I can understand how people would think its stupid and annoying though.
Top 15
peak at 13.
Promotions been a little weak for her in the past, lets hope arista/star trax step it up a little bit.
Has anyone heard the remix with LaLa from MTV? She sings the La La's and raps, its pretty funny when shes doing the LaLa's she's just singing her name.

It's amazing how many of those definitions quote the song yet define "milkshake" so differently. The first three definitions are nasty....

Well "Milkshake" is this weeks greatest gainer in airplay on the BB Hot 100 so I would expect this song to do rather well on radio. It is already at #13.

The song had sort of an underground Urban following over the summer, when it peaked on my personal chart, so I wouldn't be surprised if these were submitted by people after they heard it. The meaning of the song was a huge discussion in Urban music back in August.

Kelis actually said that "milk shake" means everything that makes up a woman.
Tweet also said "Oops (Oh My)" was not about masturbation, so believe what you want.

lol at that site's definitions!
When I first heard the song, my instant reaction as to what "Milkshake" refers to is the woman's reproductive organ ;)

I didnt take it to mean breasts because she refers to it as singular
I think if it was breasts it would be "My milkshakes bring all the boys to the yard" and "Damn right, they're better than yours" not "Damn right, IT'S better than yours"
but it's all open to interpretation

But Kelis was like 'well I don't have huge breasts, so that's not necessarily it...it's just everything that makes up a woman'

It pisses me off when American singers make songs that rip off their beats from arabic/egyptian songs. They run out of ideas, so they rip off other countries.
Abd El Haleim (my favorite arab singer) should sue Kelis.. >:(
I'm not kidding. It's so annoying.
