Thought I'd make a prediction before hitmakers updates.......
Impacting This Week
Alicia Keys - 37 adds
Kelis - 36 adds (she already has quite a few)
J.C. Chasez - 24 adds
Jagged Edge - 19 adds

What a great add week for WXKS!!  We just added Sheryl Crow, Good Charlotte, and Outkast 'Way.' It couldn't be better! Kiss 108 often doesn't add songs on their impact week. Especially Christina - almost always pre-impact! Just an observation: NONE OF THE TOP 10 MARKETS added any of the impacting songs. (except #10 which added Kelis, but most stations added that in past weeks) Also, the only song that was added in more than one Top 10 market is Linkin Park "Numb." (WDRQ & WHTZ) Every other song is only there once. |

(WDRQ & WHTZ) Every other song is only there once. Whats weird is that WDRQ added Kelis two weeks ago and it was on hitmakers one or two weeks ago. It must be a mistake that they added it because it has 30-something spins there. |

I'm amazed Alicia got so many adds. Now if they will play her, that would be even better.

Yeah Sheryl, Jessica (lol I never would've thought I'd be rooting for her), and Blink! Sheryl is going to have a definite Top 15 hit.... I wonder if this will outpeak "Soak Up the Sun" though.

Jagged Edge (12 adds) I don't expect to do that well. Their only ballad to chart is "Promise" which peaked in the 30s (I tried to look up the peak position but the archive site is down). "Let's Get Married" has longevity without charting, but I'm talking about ballads so I'd subtract any airplay for the remix. This is assuming Jagged Edge didn't have any ballad hits on CHR-Pop from their 1997 album before I followed music.
Even with 29 adds I don't expect much out of J.C. Chasez.

I guess I was just dreaming when I thought they could get another hit. At least they have the right song out. Too bad they didn't release it as a first single instead of the dreadful "You are My Number One"

"Promise" only made it to #47 on R&R. It got to #36 or so on AT40 though.

That would have been a time where I got 31-40 from American Top 40, so you're right. Number 47 means it did even worse than I said.

I am happy to see Alicia being most added. I am not surprised though. Her album came out and she is known for being very talented (although alot of people call it hype). I think if this song goes top 10 my faith will be restored in pop radio again.
Go Sheryl. I wasn't sure if TFCITD was going to be a hit or not.

I believe on impact week it got only about four adds, but the week before it got more... strange.
I'm happy for Sheryl! She is still pulling in a sufficient amount of adds! She's at a very steady pace, more steady than any other new song right now.
The impact week overall wasn't very exciting. Alicia Keys' song is boring, Kelis is.... well, Kelis, JC Chasez's is not as good as his last at all, and "Walked out of Heaven" is sloppy.
