I noticed that, whenever there is a quotation mark followed by a D, it looks like this:
"D
Now where did that smiley come from?

I asked Matt in the Administrative Forum and he said he doesn't know why it's doing that.

I was wondering that. I thought people were doing it deliberately to be funny. I didn't find it funny after the 10th time!

I've seen some other Proboards, and they have the same problem. Looks like it's a universal situation with the quotation marks forming smileys.

What's poor ol' EvanJ gonna do when he wants to talk about a song with 'd' as the first letter of its title?! :(

What's poor ol' EvanJ gonna do when he wants to talk about a song with 'd' as the first letter of its title?! :( He'll insert a [ i] [ /i] in between the quotation mark and the D.

I already typed something without the quote at the beginning to avoid it.

Or do what I do, put a space between the quotation mark and the letter:
" Damaged"

I was wondering that. I thought people were doing it deliberately to be funny. I didn't find it funny after the 10th time! I did it deliberately in the YOP topic about the best songs of the past ten years. Two people talked about " Don't Speak" by No Doubt and it had the grin smiley in place of the D and I replied to those by posting ";Don't Speak?" Back in the old R&R boards, when I posted lists of the full Top 100s of the 1970s through 1999, the D in " Dancing In The Sheets" by Shalamar turned into a grin smiley, since the song was at number 100 and to keep the columns aligned, I didn't leave a space between the colon and the D, and was the combination for the grin smiley, so that appeared instead of a D. Upon discovering this, I deleted the colon.

Or you can do what I do and just use 'Damaged'.

Then you must be using the " open italics/closed italics" trick. They disappear whenever you quote the post, though.

lol, no, that still doesn't explain how I can get through the censors.
I'm just using ASCII codes.
Instead of typing "Damaged", I typed:
"Damaged"

I'm just using ASCII codes.
Instead of typing "Damaged", I typed:
"Damaged" Cool... I'll start posting my personal chart that way! (Expect it to be a few weeks late...)

That ASCII thing must take forever. Actually, it doesn't. Sunny made a program where you can type something into a box, click a button for "generate ASCII", and it'll generate it for you.

According to ProBoards, it's a new bug which has not yet been fixed.

It's very annoying. I did the "Damaged" thing for some of my posts, but I keep forgetting to add that extra code in.
