Hey, just because R&R isn't publishing it, doesn't mean we can't talk about it. ;)
Here's what we're looking at for the first unpublished chart as of the Saturday morning update.
Looks like numbers 1, 2, and 3 will be locked in place. I don't forsee Baby Bash overtaking 3 Doors Down. If they do, it'll be by the narrowest of margins.
OutKast becomes the first act in well over a year to score two simultaneous top 10s. Ludacris and Kelis are 30 spins apart. Kelis should, easily, snag a top 10 spot by the final update.
Jessica Simpson and Staind will enter the top 20. Staind could do so without a bullet, unless they pick up again tomorrow (they got a few adds this week, after all). Pink lands a top 30 spot. It looks like Kelly Clarkson and Beyonce' will be fighting it out over the remaining top 30 entry.
J.C. Chasez and Jason Mraz will debut in the top 40 with Britney Spears and Fefe Dobson falling out. Mary J. Blige and Jagged Edge will debut in the top 50. YoungBloodZ will be one dropper. Either Bubba Sparxxx, Kelly Clarkson, or Young Gunz could be the other dropper.
Since it's a skip week, there are no recurrents.

Hard to believe how fast Stacie Orrico is falling. At this rate, it's entirely possible she won't make it into the Top 40 by the final update of the year (instead of the Mediabase year end survey, since that goes from December of the previous year through November of the current year, which makes absolutely no sense, seeing as the Year-To-Date chart reflects airplay from January 1. Plus, the December through November chart is available in the R&R paper. Could be that the January 1 through December 31 chart is only available to subscribers.

FINALLY! Chingy & Staind lost their bullets.
Hopefully 2004 will be the year that Mediabase relaizes that there are Rhythm stations on the Pop panel and makes the appropriate change.

FINALLY! Chingy & Staind lost their bullets. I'm glad Chingy lost his bullet, bur I feel bad for Staind. They made Top 20 this week and no one will ever know.

This week and January 2nd, 2004 don't count for the 2004 year-end chart, right?

I'm really getting into Staind's song now after it originally peaked at #33 on my chart and fell out of the Top 50. It should return again once my chart comes back.

Finally, Staind is done. They've been bouncing around forever. Now if only Nickelback, Linkin Park, and Evanescence could be done.

Well, "Suga Suga" finally climbs up to number two where it will most likely peak. Therefore, the streak of "no number two peaks" ends the first week of 2004. Strangely enough, it began on the first week of 2003, even on the frozen chart, the week that "Jenny From The Block" dropped from number two to three to be replaced by "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera, which would go on to hit number one.
On the R&R year end chart, two songs peaked at number two within the chart year - the aforementioned "Jenny From The Block" and "Hey Ya!" by Outkast, which started off the 2004 chart year at number one.
I still find it amazing that no songs peaked at number two for a solid year. Another weird thing - I found that no songs peaked at #22 either. And to my best of knowledge, there were few songs that peaked at number 12 (but many songs peaked at 11!).

You mean "Hey Ya", right? In 2002 no song peaked at #10, and there were about 10 songs that peaked at #22...

Well well, Christmas stress must be really setting in, as I made three mistakes in one post! That must be some sort of record (not counting my deliberate screw-ups). Thanks to Bry and Eyeball for correcting my mistakes. My above post has been modified.

In 2002 no song peaked at #10, and there were about 10 songs that peaked at #22... Actually, "Stole" by Kelly Rowland peaked at # 10 on 12/13/2002, but if you mean the "chart year 2002" then you're right.

I just checked for the fun of it, and even though "Baby Boy" is one of the 5 biggest spin losses, TWO stations are still spinning it over 100 times a week.
Mobile, Alabama 130 times and San Antonio 119
I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT!
I would go absolutely INSANE if I lived in one of those two cities and heard "Baby Boy" over 100 times a WEEK!! AAACK! Im soo incredibly sick of that song I cant even bear to listen through it one entire time.
Damn I feel sorry for those listeners
but I bet they shut off that station years ago, lol

Guess it helps having another CHR/Pop (and an Active Rock that I listen to more anyway) in the area.

Is it me, or have the spins of the Mediabase update stayed the same since Wednesday? Either that, or just Stacie Orrico's hit, which, as you all know, I've been keeping tabs on, has stopped falling, since it's still at 3511 spins. Who knows, maybe it won't go recurrent before the first chart of 2003. It might also make the final Top 40 for the year!

Are they going to be frozen until the end of the year? If not, then the year end chart running from January 1 through December 31 is the one that's up right now.

I happen to still like listening to Baby Boy.

Enough with the hyperbole. Stop complaining about Beyoncé's radio airplay in every thread. I happen to still like listening to Baby Boy. Excuse me? Don't you dare tell me to stop complaining about anything. In EVERY thread? Um, maybe 3 or 4, but to say that I "complain" about Beyonce in every thread is quite the stretch. Just because you don't like my opinion on the song being terribly overplayed doesn't give you the right to make me feel like my opinion is wrong or that I don't have the right to voice what I feel. And as I said earlier, I have said it maybe 3 or 4 times but EVERY thread? Please You still like listening to Baby Boy, well good for you, would you like me to give you a gold star now?

Well geez, you're allowed to exaggerate ("I would go absolutely INSANE..." ) but I'm not allowed to? ("...in every thread" )
